APPLICATION RULES
I. HOW TO APPLY :
1.) Complete the Nomination or Application
Form.
(Click links below to go to the
appropriate form.)
2.) Include 2 recent candid snapshots (not
modeling photos) of the potential candidate with his/her
name written on the back of the photo. If the photo has
other people in it please indicate who the candidate is
(note: we do not return any original photos).
3.) Make a 3 minute videotape (no DVD's) telling
us why you want to be the Bachelor or Bachelorette. Please
include some basic information about yourself (name, age,
occupation, a brief relationship history, where you are
from and why you want to be the Bachelor or Bachelorette).
Please include a full length body shot on the video and
check the sound and lighting to make sure the video is ok.
4.) Mail the Applicaton Form, photos, and videotape
to the following address:

NOTE: Producer shall not be responsible
for any lost, late, incomplete, stolen, misdirected, or
illegible applications; or for any telephone, cable, or
similar failures, or garbled or jumbled transmissions, or
unauthorized human intervention.
II. In-Person Interviews with Bachelor
and Bachelor Candidates:
Attend an open call interview. Times, dates
and locations are to be determined. Please check back later
for full details.
Producer reserves the right to make additions
to and/or deletions from the application process above,
including, but not limited to, changing the In Person Interview
locations, dates and/or times. Producer also reserves the
right to contact potential participants and ask additional
questions and/or conduct phone interviews (which may be
recorded by Producer with the applicant's consent and applicant
hereby gives his/her consent to such recording) to gather
additional information about potential participants. Such
phone interviews are at the Producer’s sole discretion
to assist in gathering information for selection of The
Bachelor and The Bachelorettes. By submitting the Application
Form, applicant gives Producer permission to compile such
information and waives all privacy rights in connection
with any material gathered by Producer.
Due to the high volume of nominations and applications
Producer is anticipating, Producer will not be able to answer
any questions about the receipt or status of any nominee
or applicants (collectively, "applicants"). All
nominations/applications and accompanying materials become
the sole property of Producer and may be used in any manner
in any media and will not be acknowledged or returned.
III. PARTCIPANT SELECTION
1. Based on all Mail In Nominations/Applications
and In Person Interview, Semi-Finalists will be selected
(“Semi-Finalists”). Producer will decide, in
its sole discretion, using the guidelines set forth herein,
which applicants will be called back to attend Semi-Finalist
interviews on or about a date to be determined by Producer
in it’s sole discretion.
2. Each Semi-Finalist will receive a Semi-Finalist Package
which will include the following: Medical History Form,
Name and Likeness Agreement, Release Forms and Waivers
for Semi-Finalist and their family members, Medical Release
Form, and Confidentiality Agreement (collectively, “Materials”).
All Semi-Finalists must complete, sign, and return all
Materials and a photocopy or proof of a valid unrestricted
passport to Producer to be considered for selection as
The Bachelor or one of The Bachelorettes. Producer reserves
the right to augment and/or change the contents of the
Semi-Finalist Package.
3. Producer will notify individuals by telephone if they
are selected to be a Semi-Finalist. Producer or Producer’s
agents will interview all Semi-Finalists in person. All
Semi-Finalists must also undergo physical and mental examinations
in Los Angeles, CA, conducted by medical personnel selected
by the Producer. If a Semi-Finalist does not meet all
physical and mental requirements, does not sign or have
executed all Releases and documents in the Semi-Finalist
Package, and/or does not meet all Eligibility Requirements,
then that Semi-Finalist will not be eligible to be The
Bachelor or one of The Bachelorettes. One (1) Bachelor
and up to 25 Bachelorettes will be chosen by Producer
to participate in “The Bachelor.” Producer in
its sole discretion, will also choose up to two (2) “alternate”
Bachelors and ten (10) "alternate" Bachelorettes.
4. Selection of Semi-Finalists, The Bachelor, and The
Bachelorettes shall be made by Producer based on such
criteria as Producer shall determine in its sole discretion,
and, which may be subjective. Producer is seeking a Bachelor
and a group of Bachelorettes who Producer determines to
be, among other things, outgoing, adventurous, physically
and mentally fit, and who are sincerely seeking a marital
relationship. Producer is not obligated to select anyone,
even if someone meets all eligibility requirements and
all criteria for selection. Producer’s decision regarding
the selection of Semi-Finalists, The Bachelor, and/or
The Bahelors is final and not subject to challenge or
appeal. Producer is not obligated to have any applicant,
Semi-Finalist, The Bachelor, and/or The Bachelorettes
appear on the Program and Producer shall have the right
at all times and in its sole discretion to reject, remove
or replace any applicant, Semi-Finalist, The Bachelor,
or Bachelorettes for any reason or for no reason. Even
if The Bachelor and/or The Bachelorettes participate on
the Program or any part thereof, Producer and Companies
are not obligated to broadcast or otherwise use or exploit
the Program or any part thereof, or the Bachelor and/or
Bachelorettes' participation therein.
5. By entering, each applicant agrees to release, discharge
and hold harmless the Companies, and/or the Program, including,
without limitation, from all claims and damages arising
out of his/her participation in the selection process,
physical and psychological exams, background checks, submission
of the nomination and in person interview. Each applicant
authorizes the Companies to have the applicant’s
name, voice and likeness used at Companies’ discretion
as part of the Program, or as part of promotions for the
Program, in any and all media now known or hereafter devised.
Semi-Finalists, The Bachelor, and The Bachelorettes are
required to sign releases to this effect.
PROGRAM PRODUCER
All of applicant’s promises, agreements,
statements, acknowledgments, understandings, and releases
shall inure to the benefit of the legal representatives,
licensees and assigns of Producer.
WHETHER AN APPLICANT IS CHOSEN
AS A SEMI-FINALIST, THE BACHELOR, AND/OR A BACHELORETTE
AND WHETHER SUCH INDIVIDUAL ACTUALLY APPEARS ON THE PROGRAM
IS AT THE SOLE DISCRETION OF THE PRODUCER.
RULES, ELIGIBILITY AND DATES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT
NOTICE.
