Emily is so cute with Ricki and is truly a great mother. Ricki is flat out adorable:) I’m glad we get to see her on camera!  After a long recap of her past, which we already know from Brad’s season, we truly get to see how great her relationship is with her daughter.  The recap was just a glimpse of all the great fashion we are going to see on this girl throughout the season!

Introductions:  I feel sorry for Emily.  You know when people aren’t good at certain things like, I don’t know, talking?  Many of these guys have zero social skills.  Zero.  Zeeeerow.  

Kalon 27:  ”I used to be really loud, obnoxious, a womanizer…and I JUST hit a point in my life where I’m ready to slow down.”  These guys make the best husband material, because they lived their life, but he may be a little too stuffy for Emily.  I already feel like he is the type to be showy with his money.  And there it is…the helicopter arrival.  Good gracious, Kalon, this makes you seem humble. (Question mark)  Between that and the tennis, you clearly come across as poor.

Ryan 31:  He used to be a professional athlete and now works with kids?!  And he is hot?  And he has a dog?  Yup.  He is my favorite so far:)

His poem idea was hysterical and so cute!  See?  He knows how to pull off cheesy humor in a cute, funny kind of way.  Side Note:  I randomly met his friends this past weekend in Palm Springs and they had great things to say about him

Tony 31:  Tony works out.  Obviously.  He is really, really cute with his kid.  Great looking, but he pulled out a nerdy joke with the two thumbs thing, haha.  He is probably only lacking with cool factor, because he spends all his time with his kid, which is absolutely adorable.  He messed up with his Fairytale opener out of the limo, but we will see how he checks out.

Lerone 29:  Great job? Check. Great body? Check. Great looking? Check. Great fashion? Check. Tiny Dog? Sighhhhhh I suppose no one is perfect.

David 32:  Singing Emily’s name over and over and that’s about it?  Ya, you are such a great songwriter as you clearly stated when you tried to “not toot your own horn.”

Charlie 32:  He is definitely lucky to be alive, and it shows through his new outlook on life.  He certainly is a cutie!  And has a big dog, thank God.

Jef 27:  Jef with one F is not very good at skateboarding, but he is the CEO of a super cool company!  I like his style, swagger and playful personality.  I really think Emily is into him and I can see him going to the final four, for sure!  He reminds me of the cool nerd on Breakfast club.

Arie 30:  Yes, you are hot.  Wow.  I don’t think him having a career in racecars is bad at all.  Clearly Emily loves racing, so this will be fun for her.  He is for sure going to top 2.  I can feel it!

Shawn 28:  This insurance agent didn’t do anything stupid…yet.  Other than that, I have no impression of him.

Doug 33:  A single dad from Seattle?  How many Jason Mesnick’s live there? Maybe Molly can find him a great girl if it doesn’t work out with Emily

Jackson 29: What do fitness models do when they get older and their bodies no longer make them money?

Arie is attractive.

Joe 27:  He is so cheesy and awkward.  Thanks for ruining my love affair with Cheetos, jerk.  If I had to guess, I’d say he is the president of his online fraternity, AlphaTauOmega.edu at the University of Phoenix online.

Kyle 29:  He has no shot.  That’s all.

Arie is Hot.

Chris 25:  A Chicagoan…hmmm.  He gets points for that alone.  He looks and acts more mature than 25, which is what Emily needs.

Aaron 36:  ”I’m a high school Biology teacher, but I am here to have Chemistry with you.”  Whoa.  He just shot himself in the foot, and definitely won’t be studying anatomy with Emily.  Ever.

Alessandro 30:  What in the world.  I’ve never heard a Minnesota accent combined with a Brazilian accent.  It’s “Minnzillian.”  Poor guy moves there and tries to have an American accent…little does he know, that’s not how we all sound.  He is what I imagine a creeper to look like in the toy section of a Wal-Mart in Tennessee.

Stevie 26:  Stevie is a Party MC.  Obviously for weddings in small towns and Bat Mitzvahs.  You know what I mean.  In case I have to spell it out:  N. E. R. D.  He reminds me of a word that rhymes with D-Bag.  Wait, crap.

Arie is gorgeous.

Randy 30:  Awe!  He tried so hard to be funny, that he inadvertently made me laugh!  He wasn’t confident enough to pull it off, however, causing him to act awkward, forget to introduce himself and it sounded like an earthquake went off in his throat it was so shaky.  His personality and childish looks make him super cute:) Ohhhhhhhh Randy!

Nate 25:  He is the only guy that Emily commented on how cute he was!  I agree with her.  Yepppp-puh.

Brent 41:  I think this is the record for the oldest guy on the show.  Emily is only 25.  It’s really creepy to think that he was getting his driver’s license when Emily was exiting her mother’s womb.  Reality TV is not a place for a 41-year-old man with 6 kids back home.  We are all entitled to our own opinion.  Mine is this: he has 6 kids and honestly thought he would find love with a girl nearly half his age on TV?  I simply don’t feel sorry for him going home.  I think there are other ways he can find love and I truly wish him the best.

Arie makes my teeth sweat.

John “Wolf” 30:  Cute, blah.

Travis 30:  He brought in an Ostrich egg.  Need I say more?

Michael 26:  Rehab counselor.  I’m not a fan of the long hair, but different strokes for different folks I suppose.  Yuck.  If he cut his hair, he would be so hot!  What’s up with guys from Austin, TX and long hair?  The only thing worse is long hair in the NFL.

Jean-Paul 35:  A Marine Biologist?  Cool!  He won’t go far though.

Alejandro 24:  I just want to hold him like a child.  He is adorable!  As I hold him and rock him gently to sleep, I’m going to tear out his earrings.  Boys, this is cruddy looking.  Take note and take them out.

The Good:

Emily:

She shows off her curves with an open back, so stunning!

She couldn’t look better in this nude colored gown.  This dress is rich in detail, texture and style. I’m not surprise, however, because Emily is yet to fail me in all her TV and real life appearances.

Lerone:

I’m shocked he went home.  Not only is he incredibly attractive, but he is established in his career and one of the few normal ones on the show.  Not to mention, he is by far the best dressed, combining rich fabrics with different shades of purple.  I have a feeling that Lerone will be just fine with the ladies;)

Arie:

It really doesn’t matter what you wear…you are getting acknowledged every week.

Sean:

I like that he switched it up.  He stayed away from basic, solid colors.  Go against the grain in fashion.  GetzStyle Tip:  Style is what you make of it. It’s not about a price tag, but how you wear it.  Sean’s paired a small print, checkered button down with a horizontal stripped tie under a solid colored suit.  Bravo for taking a risk and wearing it with confidence.

The Bad:

Stevie:

He chose an awful shade of green and a super shiny tie.  This doesn’t surprise me. He probably dresses this way for all of his MC gigs.  Having a chin beard should be illegal, by the way.  Obviously, he is my least favorite.  I almost chucked my remote at the TV when he got the rose.  (I’m lying for dramatic affect, but still, give me a freaking break.  I just had to fill my wine glass up to help me come to terms with the fact that I have to put up with him and his boom box another episode.)

Alejandro:

There are ways to wear a tie in a “sloppy” way, while still looking put together.  This certainly is not one of them.  Get it together, Alejandro.

Michael:  These guys are on national television.  Why they would not buy a suit that is tailored to their body is beyond my knowledge.  His attire looks outdated.  The fabric and colors are not working for him!  Suits are easy, yet sooooooo many men mess them up!  That’s it, I’m writing an article on tips for male fashion.  Keep an eye out for it on GetzStyle.com.

The first episode is always boring for me, only because there isn’t a whole lot to discuss in terms of fashion.  I can’t wait for next week to see these guys in daytime attire!  Suits have always been boring to me.

Sometimes it’s hard for me to remember my own children’s names, let alone 25 bachelors as they drop from helicopters and dress like Mrs. Doubtfire in the hopes of winning Emily Maynard’s heart.

To keep track of the fellas, I’ve devised a little system of mnemonic devices to keep them straight. These nicknames include (but are not limited to) Bumpit, Grandy, Bruno Mars, Mr. Duggar, Keith Suburban, Speed Racer, Ass Slipper, Justin Bartha, and Frat Chin.

I could use up my entire blog space just explaining to you the science behind the monikers, but really, does anyone care about the guys?

No way.

Like everyone else, we’re here for Emily. And even though I’m definitely not here for the right reasons (unless you think the right reasons are to critique Emily’s Bachelorette fashion) I assure you this journey’s going to be the most. dramatic. ever.

On a scale of Ali Fedotowsky to Jillian Harris – the former being super tomboy, the latter being super girly – Emily Maynard’s style is far to the right of the spectrum, just behind Dolly Parton (both because of the boobs and the sequins).

Emily’s first night dress by Jean Fares was all about drama, with its illusion back and sequin detailing it wasn’t my favorite. Emily looked lovely, but I had flashbacks of Disney Princesses on Ice.

Bachelorette stylist Cary Fetman explained the strategy of the dress to me. In spite of being over-the-top glam, it was important to wear a dress that was super slim fitting – so the guys could hug her without fighting with crinoline, tulle or hoop skirts.

Hey, she’s Southern. It could happen.

The Good:

I know I should probably wax poetic about Emily’s nude rose ceremony dress, but what I liked best were some of the quick intro shots of Emily in real life. My favorite? A pair of super flared red jeans by Dittos and a slim fitting cream sweater by karen kane which showed off Emily’s new…er, assets.

Keep an eye out for these jeans; they’ll make an appearance later in the season, which is more than I can say for my pick for worst dressed.

The Bad

My pick for worst dressed this week? Has to go Stevie the Party MC (really?) The uber green button down looked like it was drenched in that radioactive goo used to fill the glow sticks he’ll be using this weekend when he works the Rubenstein Bar Mitzvah.

We know, Stevie. It’s fun to stay at the YMCA.

Thank you all for joining me in another season of blogging. Last season was my first time writing for the show… and it proved to be a blasty blast. So I am glad to be back. Before I start the rant, and re-cap of what went down on this episode… I really do want to welcome you all back, and say thanks for reading along every week. I will try to keep things as short and concise as possible (some of these blogs are novels), keep it funny, light, and always bring it back to the LOVE. (The reason we all watch, right?… No, but if you don’t tell…I won’t.)

And lastly, I have most likely gotten to meet (AND HUG) a whole bunch of you on the Love Like This Tour, and it means the world to me that you guys came out and listened. I get it, I know… What is the guy who got dumped a few times on reality TV doing with a guitar and a tour? Hahaha. It has been a pleasure, to say the least getting to put music out there and trust me…MUCH MORE TO COME.

OK, on to the show:

Going to start with a blanket statement about the whole episode…

I am so impressed by Emily; I think we have the right girl at the head of the ship this time. YES, I said that about Ben last season…and well…. that didn’t end up being very accurate. I can also admit, some people are a “negative Nancy” and I am a “positive Peter,” so maybe I am getting excited too early…but I think this is going to be an entirely different season IN ALL THE RIGHT WAYS.

We open with, SHOCKER, slow music playing, (piano and violins) as Emily talks about her tragic past, and within 25 seconds of the show starting I was already waiting for some hallmark moment. This time, that came in the form of Ricky feeding ducks in a river. Super sweet, establishing shot of the Mommy/Daughter relationship. Fast forward¬ – tuck into bed, kiss, and carpool. We learn (for the 3rd time) Emily is alone at night and likes to look at pictures, and reminisce… AND she’s at the mansion.

Chris has the usual talk with her. Blah Blee Blooo. She’s nervous, flattered, excited, nervous…nervous again. But she handles it all beautifully. She is heavy on the smiles, seems humble, and anxious to meet the guys.

SO… THE GUYS.

Hahaha. OH GOD…. where to begin? There is a lot.

Quick breakdown:

David: Singer/Songwriter New York. Dark room. “Emily…EMILY…OoooOoo EMILY….Emily….Emily”…………… YIKES.

Doug: Has a son. Seattle. Ummmm. Easily my favorite, IMMEDIATELY. If he doesn’t get the Final Rose… I’m going to try and date him, haha.

Jackson: Got down on a knee…”life is about the moments that take you’re breath away”…. Oops cliché, stupid, just say “hi” dude…please.

Joe: Reminded me of a wind-up monkey that bangs a drum.

Kyle: seems genuinely blown away by Emily. Sweetness to him, I liked him

Aaron: *Picture an airplane on fire, diving out of the sky, then exploding on a mountain side… That is about how well his “chemistry” line worked. Brut.

Jef: I like him, BUT. He reminds me of Bruno Mars meets Rufio from Hook. With the hair and the skateboard…anyone else seeing this?

Steve: Had a boom box, played music, and I THINK what he did was called dancing…I’m not sure though. Also, the hair on his chin was awful.

Tony: Cinderella, fairy tales, princess, glass slipper – holy cow. That guy needs to do some push-ups. Does he have ANY guy friends? He might as well have worn a dress.

Randy: The grandma thing? Please refer back to Aaron (*)

Nate: Nametag thing, but I kind of liked it. It was memorable and funny.

Travis: Oh god. Oh…. God. The egg. It is hard to fathom something creepier, less attractive and weirder than bringing an egg to a girl you are just meeting and saying “It symbolizes my protection (stalking) over you and your daughter…” nightmare.

Ryan: Pro-football player. He’s AWESOME. Ridiculously good looking, trains athletes. I hope he goes far.

Kalon: Helicopter (good for you!), sideways/creepy, smile/mouth (not so good!)

Brent: 6 kids…. Wow. That’s a lot of kids.

The night goes as all first nights do. Lots of 30-second conversations. Lots of ooh’s and ahh’s when Emily walks in a room. The guys are IN LOVE with her right away, understandably so.

A few conversations stuck out to me:

1. Arie: Coming right out and saying he is a racecar driver, SO BALLSY. I thought it was really sweet and cool how he told Emily. He didn’t “pull it out of the closet,” he just laid it out honestly and wanted to make sure she knew that about him before things got serious. I disliked this a little because it is A LOT to put on Emily night one, right? If you recall, he even asked, “is that ok?” Eeeshhh. That’s a tough pill to swallow when you JUST met someone. It worked out well though, and I’m a fan of his for sure.

2. Doug: I mean… Holy hell. That note from Austin… NO. This show is NOT a competition (and it drives me nuts when contestants handle it like one)…BUT… that note from his son was the ace in the hole, the 4th quarter touchdown pass, the bottom of the 9th home run…call it what you want. Totally deserved the F.I.R. (first impression rose, do we all know the lingo?)

3. Chris: The bobble head puppet show. Whooopsie Daisy. I can’t remember ever learning as a boy/guy/man that the way to a woman’s heart is a puppet show. Anyone else have a hard time watching?

The night wraps up with a Rose Ceremony that didn’t hold too many surprises. I liked her picks for the most part, didn’t think she passed up anyone that should have stayed, though Brent’s exit about not being able to find love at 40, and having 6 children WAS sad. I certainly wish him well.

Short and sweet to start things off this season. But I’ll leave you this:

I think we have a pretty awesome 9 weeks ahead of us. There are some really intriguing guys, a few crazies thrown in, and one hell of a Bachelorette. That sounds like the recipe for a fun, emotional, rocking season 8 of The Bachelorette.

Alas, down to the final two!  This is when things get tricky but I always do wonder if The Bachelor/ette knows at this point who is lucky lady is going to be.  In my mind, he/she has got to!  It’s days away from the proposal.  But then again, Jason Mesnick proved he never really made up his mind until after his proposal.  In all honesty, it seems as if Ben has stronger feelings for Courtney and Lindzi is more of a safe choice.  Luckily Ben has his mother and sister coming to put him at ease with his decision.  Family does always have the ability to clear your head and can make any situation better.

Certainly Ben is ecstatic to see his mother and sister.  So ecstatic, it even brought tears to his eyes.  I was only gone for 4 days or so and I was dying to see my family.  It’s a hard journey (yeah, I said journey) to go through.  I can’t even imagine being away from family and friends for 8 weeks.  Ben seemed to be over the moon about his final two choices and encouraged both his mother and sister to be open about each woman.  It was quite interesting when Julia stepped in and asked Ben about any of the women who didn’t quite get along with the other women.  Ben somewhat giggled and told Julia that she was actually still there.  Just noticing Julia’s expression, it was apparent she wasn’t thrilled about this.  I agree with Julia though.  It’s tough to get along with women sometimes but not getting along with most of them is a red flag.

My girl, Lindz is the first up to meet the fam!  And I do have to add that she does absolutely make wonderful impressions.  She is the easiest person to talk to and you never feel uncomfortable around her.  She always makes the conversation about you, rather than herself – such a great quality.

My favorite line of Lindzi’s was when she told Ben’s mom how she always feels uncomfortable eating properly.  Lindz, remember on Titanic?  You start with the silverware on the outside and work your way in!  I thought it was so endearing when she kept dropping her fork.  It showed she was human and actually nervous.  Who wouldn’t be??

It seems as if Ben’s mother is very protective of him.  And I think that is a great thing.  She definitely had some questions for Lindzi and I think she did a great job with answering them.  It seemed genuine.

And even more protective of Ben is his sister, Julia.  They seem to have a very strong relationship.  It’s important that when family comes, that they do somewhat grill the girls.  It seems like it would be a tough situation to be in.  But it’s absolutely necessary because the next time they see Ben, he may be engaged.

I thought it was great that Julia brought up the Courtney issue.  And I think Lindzi answered with class.  She did have the choice to bash Courtney and make Julia feel even more skeptical about Courtney.  But Lindzi kept it at, “We are very different.”  I think that says a lot about Lindzi.

Clearly, it is very important for Ben to get approval on both women.  He seemed to be relieved that his mother and sister approved of Lindzi.  And I thought she chose such a fabulous outfit to wear.  I remember Ashley Hebert comparing Ben’s mother to Coco Chanel.  And although the white T and jeans didn’t fit, the tweed blazer screamed Coco Chanel.

Now Courtney is up.  I was dying to see how Courtney would get along with Ben’s family.  And she surprisingly seemed comfortable.  Although a little nervous but most likely because Courtney does indeed want to make a good impression.  I’m not sure if this is exactly how the conversation went down but it started off immediately at discussing Courtney’s modeling career.  Models absolutely have a stereotype.  One of my best friends is a model…a very successful model.  And she is an admirable person.  So I have to add that I never once stereotyped for being a model.  Only was taken back by her actions.

Julia didn’t seem to be too afraid questioning Courtney about her actions.  It absolutely needed to be addressed.  I thought Courtney could have expressed more apologetic feelings but I’m sure she wanted to make light of the situation.  I do think Julia appreciated Courtney’s honesty and got to know her better during their talk.

Courtney seems to very worried…still.  She knows she’s done wrong.  But I genuinely believe she has developed strong feelings for Ben.  And I do think she is in a much calmer state now that it’s down to her and Lindzi.

Ben seemed to be more concerned about Julia and his mother’s approval than Lindzi.  That speaks volumes.

Julia said she was shocked because she really thinks Courtney is a great girl, after getting to know her.  She made a great point…never judge a book by its cover.

And also Julia directly told Ben that she sees Ben with a girl more like Courtney.  There goes the shocking finale.  Ring is going to Courtney.

Last date with Lindz!  And to be frankly honest, it seems as if Ben is going through the motions with Lindzi.  You can just see the passion shared between Courtney and Ben.  And I can’t really see it with Lindzi.  I think Ben 100% respects Lindzi and has a great time with her.  But the passion and openness just isn’t there.  Julia did in fact tell Lindzi that she needs to be more open and show Ben that she is fully ready to let her guard down with him.

And this was pretty much Lindzi’s last chance to open up to Ben.  It was adorable how she straight up asked Ben, “Am I being more open?”  Poor girl is trying but it’s such a tremendously hard situation to be in.  You want to let your guard down but then you know there is another girl involved.  One may feel more confident about their connection and the other may still have their walls up.  And in this case, I think Lindzi had her walls up.  Although, I have to give her some credit.  I think she made such an incredible transformation and did allow herself to become more vulnerable.  Just not as much as Courtney.

Perfect date…

Even this part of the date was ridiculously cute.  Couples that play together, stay together.

Lindzi definitely broke down more of a wall that evening.  It seems like she had so much to say and Ben was somewhat nodding and giving one-word answers back to her.  Of course with a few smiles included.  I don’t think Ben was lying when he said he could see part of his life in Florida.  Lindzi has such a sweet family and always seem to be having a good time.  Now we know where Lindzi gets it.  But the heart wants what the heart wants.

I had to add in that I adored when Lindzi whispered, “I love you.”  I think I may have gotten chills.

Last date with Courtney!  First, I have to add that I’m impressed with all of Courtney’s clothes.  She definitely knows how to tone it down.  I don’t know when Ben said this but before all of us were selected, he told the crew he didn’t want any models or women in fashion.  Welp, I was screwed. Lol.  Even though she is a model (and probably gets AMAZING clothes), she looks as if she’s not really from LA.  And it looks like she can blend in with Ben’s type of scene.  Not saying Ben doesn’t have a good fashion sense.  You know what I mean, right??

Courtney and Ben ALWAYS seem to get the very chill dates where they are just talking, drinking and touching one another.  I’m so confused by that.  But maybe Ben has a say in the type of dates he wants with each woman.  Hm, we’ll never know!  But it does make sense that he wants more “talking time” with Courtney and then chooses to spend the more “adventurous time” with Lindzi.

I hope you all aren’t getting angry with me that I’m pro Courtney and Ben.  But I definitely see a connection with them.  Ben said it best.  They act like kids when they are together.  And doesn’t everyone want that?  I mean I do.

The scrapbook idea was very tasteful but it was Blakeley’s idea first.  I’m wondering if Courtney knew about this before starting this scrapbook.  Either way, it wasn’t cheesy.  It was just filled with memorable pictures, along with a note.  It seemed to be a genuine, honest and caring note that Ben truly appreciated.  It was definitely a struggle to watch at this point because I just wanted Ben to pull out the ring and propose right then and there.

However, Courtney brought up their issue once again.  I’m sure because she was nervous to see where Ben stood with everything.  And it seemed that Ben was annoyed.  He said that sometimes he didn’t get Courtney and that he gets frustrated with her.  Not a good sign.  Eek.

In Courtney’s defense, I think she is scared beyond belief that the way she treated all the other girls is going to ruin everything.  And I don’t blame her for being upset.  She treated many of the women with disrespect.  And some of the women haven’t/won’t even forgive her.

The day of the proposal…

Ben knows who he is going to propose to.  And in my opinion, I think he knew it was Courtney from their first date together.  And that sure is a stunning ring.  I want one of those.  Kidding, not for a while;)

Lindzi’s dress was remarkable.  The girl loves her feathers!  And I really love a great mix of navy blue and black.  It’s so chic.  Lindz, I love you to pieces but I did not like that cape.  I hope that was their only option for youJ

And like I said, I think we knew who Ben was wanting to propose to at this point.  The moment Lindzi was the first to step out of the helicopter, it was clarification that Ben was going to say goodbye to Lindzi.  Although, I do think Ben did a great job with this explanation.  I don’t think it was fair that he told Lindzi he has fallen in love with her.  And that he was also in love with someone else.  I’m so confused?  I think he should have just kept it at, “I’m in love with someone else.”  Even though it’s ridiculous that every Bachelor/ette always says “someone else.”  As if we don’t know who that someone else is!  But I guess I get why they do it.  I think just saying the other person’s name is more painful.

Just like Ben said, Lindzi is an incredible woman and I know good things are going to come her way.  Lindzi, seriously, call me!

And now we have Courtney.  I thought she looked stunning.  I loved the off-white cape with the long, black, leather gloves.  It seemed so extravagant.  But it was fun to see.  Sometimes a plain old dress isn’t as fun to watch.  I thought both girls added some fun into their outfit.

I do have to admit when Ben was telling Courtney how beautiful and great she was, I thought he was not going to propose to her.  He paused and it made it sound like he wasn’t going to do it.  Great editing, ABC.  You had me at the edge of my seat.  But then of course he finished his pause with, “You are my forever.”

Courtney seemed extremely happy and it brought tears to her eyes.  I did think it was a beautiful moment.

Courtney said yes.  And that’s the end of Courtney and Ben’s fairytale…until the show aired.

Ben admittedly told Chris Harrison that when the show aired, there was too much negativity surrounding the newly engaged couple.  Ben said, “Something just snapped.”  And that he needed to take a couple of weeks to think about everything.  I am so sure this didn’t sit well with Courtney.

Courtney was heartbroken when Ben had chosen to abandon her during these hard times.  I can understand both points.  Ben saw a different Courtney and pulled away.  But yet, Courtney went through all this to be with Ben in the end.  I think he should have tried harder.  But sometimes that media can say such awful things and it’s hard to get past it.  Why do you think celebrity couples don’t have lifelong marriages?

Courtney said this was the hardest thing she’s ever had to go through.  And I don’t blame her.  I’ve been reading the tabloids and the blogs.  And people say such a terrible things about them when this is supposed to be the best time of their lives.  I can’t imagine.  But there are always consequences to people’s actions.  And I think their relationship is paying for what happened.

Ben did get around to apologizing to Courtney about the abandonment.  It’s a good sign that he realized he should never do that again to a fiancé.  Somehow they managed to get back to a happier place…or say they say.

But obviously, there is still a lot of pain both Ben and Courtney are feeling.  It is absolutely hard to have the world against you (or Bachelor fans).  It actually did break my heart to see Ben shed some tears.  Both him and Courtney were emotional and I think that absolutely says their relationship is real.

I wish the best for both Courtney and Ben.  It seems they have something great between them.  And it seems very special.  I can’t imagine what they are going through but hopefully, it can only go up from here.  The show is now over; the negativity should be coming to rest.  Everyone should really take a step back and refrain from saying such harsh things about a couple that is trying to make their relationship work.  Just keep in mind, that every person that is saying anything negative is adding to the stress they are going through.  Stop commenting on blogs and let this couple try to make it work!  We are not in their lives so it really doesn’t matter what you have to say.  Give it a rest, people.  Let them be happy.  And now, let’s focus on Emily Maynard’s season!  It’s going to be so good!

I had a great experience with everyone involved in Bachelor Season 16.  Ladies, you all mean so much to me and I’m so lucky to have you in my lives!

I always thought a Matterhorn was some sort of snow monster that looks like this…

Turns out, it’s a Yeti.  And a Matterhorn is a Matterhorn.  Humphhhhhh.  I blame Disney.

Ben has great style and for the most part keeps it simple.  Even through the simplicity, he always curves his attire.  He is wearing a masculine leather jacket over a V-neck tee (my favorite) with a nice fitting pair of jeans and unique sneakers.  Ben is greeted by his mom and sister and he gives them the lowdown on Lindzi and Courtney.  They are obviously a little concerned as he voices his concerns over Courtney.  His mom and sister are so sweet and loving!  Ben is such a down to earth dude who is a sincerely good guy.  I just hope he can ignore all the hateful comments and go about his life with his new fiancé and make bachelor babies

Julia is a naturally beautiful girl.  I remember her easy, breezy look from Ashley H.’s season.  She keeps her style clean and classic.  She chose to wear all black and give her look a pop of color with bright red fingernails. She looked great in a black poncho sweater with jeans and a great pair of boots!

Ben and Lindzi:  They definitely forked

Family:

Lindzi is so adorable!  She is so nervous in front of Ben’s family that she drops her fork in her lap…TWICE!  Awe:) She says she gets a little stressed when she has to eat properly, hahaha!  So CUTE!  On the other hand, Ben seemed very stuffy during this situation.  Lighten the load, Ben!  Laugh a little!  He gives her a look that says, “how embarrassing.”  I hate when people don’t have the ability to make you feel comfortable in a seemingly awkward situation.

Julia already told Lindzi that she wants Ben to pick her!  Whoa!  She hasn’t even met Courtney yet.  This speaks volumes about how great Lindzi is.

Lindzi talks to Julia (with the Matterhorn in the background of course) about her feelings for Ben.  I definitely think Julia loves Lindzi, I mean, who wouldn’t?  She is so sweet and smiley making it hard not to like her:) Ben’s mother also loved Lindzi and they pretty much tell Lindzi and Ben that they want him to pick Lindzi without even meeting Courtney yet…YOWZA!

Date:

I’ve gotta say, this move is pulled A LOT on this show.  Every season, every one-on-one date and every time they see each other towards the end of the season.  I’ve never jumped on my boyfriend like this.  Even after being gone for a couple weeks traveling, I tend to keep my feet on the ground.  I’m going to do it to him next time I see him, and if he questions me, I’ll just look at him innocently and say, “Well, Lindzi did it to Ben!”  On another note, I’m totally digging Lindzi’s brown, flat boots.  I think it’s very sexy in a super cute way when girls wear a pair of flats.  This shows confidence and playfulness, which in a nutshell is what Lindzi is.  Ben takes Lindzi for a “ride” with the horses if you know what I’m sayin’, and then they go skiing by that silly Matterhorn.

Ben and Lindzi!  ABC is a family channel for crying out loud.  Assume that position behind closed doors.  Jeeeeeeeez.

Courtney to Ben: Honestly? Well, I guess it all started the first time I went through the second grade. I caught my reflection in a spoon while I was eating my cereal, and I remember thinking “wow, you’re ridiculously good looking, maybe you could do that for a career.”

Family: 

This is the best I’ve seen Ben look all season!  I love when he brushes his hair out of his face and has a little style to it.  He is a good-looking guy, he needs to quit covering it up with that damn mop!   

Courtney explains to Julia that she is pretty sure there is more to life than being really, really, ridiculously good looking and that she intends to find out what that is.  Julia totes understands and Courtney gets her stamp of approval.

Courtney proves yet again that she knows style!  This color block frock is absolutely adorable and she wore it well with sheer, navy blue tights and brown rider boots.  Someone commented in my last blog that I was only saying nice things about Courtney, because I wanted to share clothes with her one day.  As idiotic as that sounds, you may be onto something, Gadget.

As Courtney continues to talk to Ben’s mother, I see a lot of similarities in personality.  (Courtney’s kind side, of course.) The Flajnik women are very subtle, soft spoken, reserved and calm.  Courtney has this demeanor about her as well.  I think she would totally fit in with them.  Lindzi has a very bubbly, cutesie personality that I can see getting on their nerves a little bit.  However, I love Lindzi’s personality.

Courtney carries herself very well.  Being a model has definitely given her confidence, which she seems to apply to her real life.  Ben was far more nervous then her, and I found that a bit odd.  I’ve never been nervous to introduce a boyfriend to my family.  I’m always excited!  Ben seems to have a lot of self-doubt and insecurities throughout this process.  Obviously, I don’t know how he is in real life, but as for this show he comes off slightly unsure of himself.

Date:

There they go with that funny Matterhorn again…flying around it in a helicopter and talking about it non-stop.  That Matterhorn needs a twitter account.  They make snow angels, take a sled ride and have a snowball fight, without coats on may I add.  Hey, that’s fine by me!  Gives me a better chance to look at their attire:)

Courtney’s boots look Switzerland chic and go along with her ski lodge look perfectly.

Ben and Courtney get into it again about her and the other girls as Ben states, yet again, that this is a really big decision.  If he is proposing marriage to someone tomorrow  by the MATTERHORN, then he better figure it out!

The Proposal:  Call me if you dump your fiance

I just want to give that fluff ball a little snip on the square edges that make him look so Francine-ish.  See that little point that looks like a sideburn?  All I want to do is angle that.  I sometimes dream about it.  I need a break from blogging.  I can’t take my focus off of the odd issues at hand here, people.

I’ve heard some bad things about Lindzi’s dress that I absolutely don’t agree with.  She stuck to what she is comfortable with, yet upped her game big time in picking out this strapless, empire waist, and feathered gown.  She looks beautiful from head to toe.  The only thing I don’t like is her cape.  While I do love the color, I don’t like it with her dress. I also don’t like the material or style of this cape.  I am not sure who put that together, but I am begging them to put me in charge:)  On that note, a lot of you angry commenters consistently ask where I get off judging fashion.  Allow me to re-introduce myself:  Hi.  My name is Natalie Getz.  I went to Columbia in Chicago for Arts, Entertainment and Media Management with a minor in Fashion show production and styling.  I’ve worked in fashion since I was 17 years old.  I am a Fashion Stylist.  I hope that clears things up.  Now, I’m sure you will still have your snippy little comments, so have at it.  Raarrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

I wonder how Chris feels letting the Lindzi walk up to Ben, full on knowing she is not the one.  Knowing Chris, I guarantee this is very hard for him.  Ben denies Lindzi a proposal…it was totally the fork.

Courtney couldn’t look more stunning.  Her cape is phenomenal and her dress is drop dead gorgeous.  The glove pairing did me in…I LOVE THIS LOOK!  She is a model, obviously, so she really knows how to work her clothes with every step.

This dress is flat out beautiful.  From the design to the fabric, this is hands down my favorite gown of the season.  Winner winner, chicken lunch.  `

Ben proposes to Courtney, BUT…makes it dramatic DOT DOT DOT.

Ben: But, (looooooooong, deeeeeeep breath) I told myself I’d only marry someone if it’s forever.  So, ahhhhhhh, (deep breathing) long dramatic pause, (que- scratching of the head, raising of the eyebrows) …that is you Courtney.  Will you marry me?

Courtney:  (makes dolphin noises) Ben!  I’m giggling so that I don’t cry.  I can’t show you a lot of emotion, because of the fresh botox I got a little too much of before the show, but I do love you and am crying tears of joy on the inside.

Ben:  I love botox

Natalie:  Me too!

After The Rose:  Lindzi was busy at charm school

 Quick note in regard to the final rose.  Lindzi wasn’t there and I’m not happy about that.  Poor girl got her heart broken and was humiliated in front of millions and she never got the chance to talk to Ben or Chris.

Ben and Courtney, same old same old.  Courtney looks great in a stunning white dress while they, yet again, battle out their relationship.  I sincerely hope these two are happy regardless of the outcome of their relationship.  They have both been through some emotional drainage, whether it be their own fault or not. In a weird way, I think they will make it.  This is worse than most couples go through before a marriage, so it can only go up from here.  If they get through this, they will more than likely get through anything.

Ashley and JP to the rescue!  I love these two!  They are absolutely adorable and ridiculously in love:)  They are so humble and kind.  I will not name names, but often times, people who gather a lot of “fame” from this show gain jerk egos.  Not these two!  I honestly can’t say enough great things about them:)  On top of it all, they both have excellent style every time I see them!
