Ashley Spivey’s Blog: Episode 4

This week Ben and the ladies headed to Utah and the home of 2 of the shows most infamous “villains” – Michelle Money (who isn’t a villain at all and I love her dearly) and Bentley Williams (a horrible douche of a man).  Maybe Bentley’s evilness was in the air because some just plain crazy stuff happened in this episode!

Kacie B. has what I like to call first-date syndrome.  I watched the same thing happen to Ashley H. on my season.  After you go on the magical first date, you basically go crazy until you get another one-on-one date.  It’s hard to have such a good connection so early and then watch him take everyone else out but you!

Rachel gets the first one-on-one of the episode and I lol’d at the date card because it sounded like her and Ben were going to be using the bathroom together.

Rachel was a little worried about going on the date because apparently communicating isn’t one of her strong suits.

Ben also seems to be a little worried about going on the date because when he comes to pick her up he is sending some bad body language vibes!

They really don’t have much to talk about in the canoe so they resort to kissing amongst a bunch of bugs! ROMANTIC!

In fact, Rachel doesn’t really have much to say the whole time…

Ben gets desperate and starts pointing out beaver dams.  This is some of the worst date chemistry I have ever seen.

Ben is really confused because he thinks Rachel is so chill and laid back but he can’t read her very well.  She also keeps professing that she has communication issues which isn’t the most reassuring thing to hear when you are looking for a potential wife.

The group date card comes and I once again cringe at Lindzi’s foundation, which is about 3 shades darker than her face.  It also has too much orange pigment.  Regardless, she’s still pretty.

Kacie B. is not happy to be going on the group date.  She is really having a hard time bless her heart.

I think at one point Rachel realizes that she might be going home so she starts having word vomit at dinner and I think Ben likes her well enough so he gives her the rose.

But then he gives her a closed mouth kiss so this means that he doesn’t like her that much!

Then they feed each other marshmallows, which turns out not to be very sexy.  Ben’s face is really cracking me up.

Whoaaaaaa Nelly!  Ben riding up on the group date is also not sexy.  The girls are all super psyched that they get to wear sexy fishing clothing and go fly-fishing!!!

Talking about mustard on a group date is so not sexy.

Lindzi is supposed to be the outdoorsy girl, so she is super pissed when Courtney catches a fish before her.  Her foundation is blended better on the group date.  This makes me happy.

Later on the group date we find out that Nicki has a major tell when she gets drunk – her nose gets really red.

Casey S. shocks the world by talking.

Nicki finally gets some decent camera time and has a great conversation with Ben about loss and what it can teach you.

But then Samantha interrupts Ben’s time with Nicki and asks Ben why she keeps getting group dates.  Ben is annoyed.

Samantha realizes she has said the wrong thing.

Ben is really angry for just thinking that she gets too emotional on group dates and isn’t patient.  Apparently, he said in his blog that he doesn’t think she was there for the right reasons.  Regardless, he kinda looks like a jerk at this point.

So Samantha gets sent packing during the group date.  She is sad and so are a lot of people back at the house.  I’m thinking that she was actually pretty cool because a lot of the girls are crying when she gets sent home!

Ben tries to reassure Kacie B. by giving her some kisses.

I mean, I would be seriously worried if I was only getting pop-kisses.  Pop-kisses are not passionate!!!

Then Ben kisses Courtney and it only reinforces how much he really likes her.  He can’t keep his hands off of her!  Ps – Don’t they look naked?

I don’t know if Courtney is just a really great actress or if she is just really good at knowing how guys work, but because she is on a group date she decides to make Ben feel like she no longer feels important to him.  This is different than what Kacie B. did during her one-on-one time with Ben.  Kacie was giving off a little desperate vibe – Courtney is making Ben feel like it is his fault.  Because he really likes her, he decides to show her how important she is to him.

Ben gives Courtney the group date rose and America screams at their TVs.

Jennifer (who I’m really loving) gets the next one-on-one date and it’s an adrenaline date!  Adrenaline dates are awesome because you can bond over your fears.  Jennifer’s date is better than Emily’s adrenaline date because scaling the bridge really didn’t allow for much touching.  Jennifer and Ben are practically glued together!

After the scary cave dropping, Ben treats Jennifer to a Clay Walker concert and there is a crazy happy girl beside them the whole time that is cracking me up.

Emily is super pissed that Courtney got the group date rose.  I’m really jealous that Blakeley is touching up Emily’s highlights – I wish someone would have done that on our season (cough cough Michelle).

Ben ends Jennifer’s date by giving her a big open-mouthed kiss – I think he really likes her.  She’s so sweet and normal, how could you not?

Emily decides to tell Ben how Courtney acts one way around him and another way around the rest of the girls.  This is the worst thing you can possibly do on the show.  NEVER EVER rat on a girl that has a rose, and never use your alone time to talk badly about another girl.

Emily then makes another mistake by talking badly about Courtney to Courtney’s best friend in the house, Casey S.  Casey immediately runs to Courtney and tells her what Emily is saying.

Courtney insists that she’s a nice person but that you shouldn’t mess with her.  I think Emily might have sealed her fate by picking a fight with the devil.

This quote by Courtney makes no sense.  Wouldn’t you want to verbally assault someone before you rip their head off?  If you rip someone’s head off, they will die and you won’t be able to verbally assault them.  The devil sure doesn’t have book smarts.  Regardless, she confronts Emily instead of pretending that she likes her.

Emily talked a bigger game than she could handle because she doesn’t fess up to talking badly about Courtney.  This is a bad move on Emily’s part.  Courtney wins this round.

Emily knows that she has made a mistake.  Ben decides to punish her by giving her the last rose.

Speaking of giving roses, Elyse lives to see another day on the show but girl you gotta quit with the faces!  How can you cut eyes at Kacie B.?  Monica is the unlucky one – she gets sent home!

How cute was Blakeley’s stomping at the end?  I wish we got to see more of this side of her!

So what did y’all think of this episode?  Is Kacie B. losing it?  How cute is Jennifer?  Are we Team Emily or Team Courtney?  Does anyone like Courtney?
