Oh my gosh, why does everyone take everything so seriously?? The bachelor and bachelorette are totally my guilty pleasure and it's for the same of entertainment - not education, not profound life lessons, just fun - smiling, laughing (or, heaven forbid crying!) with them OR at them. Sigh. Just enjoy, folks. Thanks Constantyn for your humor and inside insights. I loved the episode when Ashley met your family - it doesn't know I mean anything about you but that you and your family seem like hardworking and fun-loving people. :)

I think YOU win the biggest douchebag award, not Ben. The point of my response was that through editing the writers and producers can make someone the hero and someone else the villain. That is the Bachelor formula. Get a life, loser!

This is a situation where 25 attractive women have to compete against each other to catch, and keep the attention of one man. They go on magical dates without having to deal with many of the real life aspects of being in a relationship. It’s easy to rush headfirst into the honeymoon phase, but also just as easy to feel insecure when you see him sharing that honeymoon with other women. But it’s really not so different from the dating scene now. People date around all the time, keeping their “options open”. The only difference (besides all the scary activities, and great places to travel to) is that you know about all the other women he’s dating. Obviously drama was going to happen.

That being said, I find it funny that people are getting so worked up because Constantine "won't admit" that Ben is a "douchebag" or that he doesn't want to be "judgmental".

He's simply writing his own humorous analysis of the previous night's episode, while keeping in mind that he is not on the show, and does not actually know these women or what has been going on. Which is exactly what we, as viewers, should sometimes remember. We don’t know the people on this show. We don't "know" Ben. What we know of Ben, and these women, is very one dimensional. We're seeing footage which has already been edited to fit a particular storyline, which we've seen before on the Bachelor. We know that there will be a villain, we know that there is going to be drama on the Bachelor. We don't get to see all the footage of what these women say, only what has been edited for national television. What Courtney said could mean something different if we were able to see it in full context. Perhaps she is misunderstood by many people.

Just because Ben makes decisions we don't like doesn't make him a douchebag. It makes him human. He obviously has side to him that we don't know about. Cream Dreams does not mean that he is a jackass. It means he has a sense of humor, one that may not necessarily fit into the Prince Charming profile of the Bachelor.

Who are we to criticize his decisions? I understand that it's hard to focus on personal relationships when the other person is going on dates with other people, but I think that Ben definitely gave Emily some good advice when telling her to focus on the relationship between them, and not to butt into the relationship between Ben and Courtney. I think we often forget that a relationship is between two people, and therefore, their own business. As caring family and friends, we often give advice on relationships, and forget that as well intended as we may be, we are not in that relationship, and do not know everything that has happened/is going on. We forget that as friends or family, our jobs is not to understand, make, or like decisions that loved ones make, but to simply support them. Even though this is on television, ultimately Ben's decisions are his own, and what happens between he and Courtney is their business.

I am a mother 53, with a daughter 21. I think in every show; what would your mother/father say about your decision? This is what I think for Ben.Would his father do the same thing e.g. C.R.? I sure wish he wouldn't cheapen himself so. I would love to see what Courtney would do when she is told no. It makes me sad to see this pornographic behavior on public television. This girl is every woman's nightmare. If choose she is the mother of his children and sadly enough the mother of public degradation. And Ben, father of no discipline. They are a product of the USA's slowly declining moral society. It's great to have such a jovial spirit but, Man up Ben... you're acting like a 16 year old.

I enjoy Constantine's blog. I know that his friendship with Ben may make him less critical than other bloggers about this show, but that's why it's good to have a bunch of different perspectives from different former contestants, people! I don't remember, but I believe Ashley S. was easier on Ashley H. when everyone dumped on her for the whole Bentley fiasco too.

I sure hope you find a good person to be with eventually! You seem to be more wise and mature than most people and seem to understand what really matters at the end of the day. Like you said, if you have any criticism about Ben, you aren't going to throw him under the bus just so a bunch of readers will be happy. You'll pull him aside and mention whatever you want to say. I respect that. Keep maintaining your integrity because that's a true measure of a good person.
