DANA WEISS’ BACHELORETTE FASHION BLOG: EPISODE 6
The fact that I am only just getting to this week’s fashion recap from the Bachelorette is shocking.
I did not see this coming.
This week my focus is not on Emily’s fashion, but rather Ryan’s, who has taken men’s undergarments to a whole new level, proving that colored shoes are not always the best option, and singlehandedly keeping Edward Scissorhands in business with his Ed Burton inspired facial hair.
The reason my blog is late is because I have spent hours – hours - trying in vain to track down the exact halter-esque tank top that Ryan Bowers brought into my life, and I am forever changed because of it. (Ryan, if you are reading this the world needs to know the backstory of your tank top.)
Once I finally took my Ritalin and was able to concentrate on the task at hand, I realized that more of you were probably hoping to replicate Emily’s fashion (or not) than Ryan Bowers’ epic tank top. So here we go.
One of my favorite parts of Emily’s fashion this week was the attainability of some of it. Sure, we’re probably not going to end up with Emily’s white sequin rose ceremony dress by Gomez-Gracia (and yes, as many of you pointed out, Carrie Underwood wore the same dress to the Grammy’s. Let me know in the comments who you think wore it best.)
But some of my favorite pieces this week you can get for yourself. I loved Emily’s outfit from her date with Travis. The beaded off the shoulder top is by Haute Hippie and blush leather jacket is from Zara (though sadly out of stock online.) Emily has amassed herself quite a leather jacket collection this season – and this was one of the more affordable pieces.
I also loved her beaded Parker jacket during the infomercial for Brave. It’s always fun to add a little sparkle in the daytime and I love the idea of pairing sequins or beads with a casual bottom like jeans or cutoffs (which Emily has amassed more than a few of as well.)
Faring less well? Emily’s gold dress from her one on one with Ryan. It’s hard to outshine Ryan’s ego (or turquoise shoes) but this monstrosity did. Between the patterned sequins and oversized sleeve, this dress wore Emily, not the other way around. Sure I get the joke: Ryan called her a trophy and she was dressed like an Oscar, but this dress overpowered Emily, not to mention my gag reflex.
The winner of the night? Emily’s gorgeous rose ceremony earrings by The Woods (I’m trying to get the scoop from the designer whether these are available for purchase or a one of a kind piece – so check back on my fashion blog Possessionista.com for details.)

I could have swore it was a child’s tank top that Ryan had it on, it made me throw up a little in my mouth! The fact that you could not find any information where it came from might just confirm my first thought.

LOL did no one else that that the guys on Ashley’s season also wore the same tank top Ryan is?? Check out the bloopers from the MTA on Ashley’s season. All the guys are wearing the tank top while running up the stairs. Guess the producers give it to em?

Apparently I’m the only person who loved the gold trophy dress. I actually liked Ryan’s turquoise shoes, too, although they don’t go with his outfit. I guess I just like flashy things even if they’re tacky.
Least favorite outfit: the black sequin dress was nice, but I didn’t like how she was wearing leggings or jeggings or something with it.

Carrie wore the white dress better. Emily’s earring ruined it for me. Looks like Emily is not gonna lay off the sequins any time soon and that Gold dress is ugh YUCK! She’s getting too pageant for me though I do like that sparkly jacket or cardigan she wore and the off shoulder top. To be honest I have seen photos of Emily on events wearing better dresses than some of the ones she is wearing like a short black dress and she looked great. Sometimes less is more.

Dana, why would anyone be shocked that you are late this week when you were a whole week late last time? (Although I appreciated that you didn’t apologize for it in that post – really, no one wants blog apologies.)
I can’t believe 1) that you still haven’t managed how to handle bigger photos and 2)that you are still more interested in “attainability” and names than the art of fashion. I want to learn from you, I really do, but you come off as so superficial….oh, wait, that blog is already taken. You DIDN’T EVEN GIVE AN OPINION on the white speckle dress!!! As far as the earrings, I liked them too, EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE TOTALLY INAPPROPRIATE for that formal dress. Which, again, you didn’t point out.
You have a huge platform here to do something cool and different – not just imitate your money-making blog. (Not that there’s anything wrong with making money.)

Have you met her by any chance and you are saying that she is ugly on the inside because of something that she has done to you? I highly doubt it! Don’t hide behind a computer and write hurtful things about people you don’t even know. I admit, I don’t know her either. However, I am not about to judge her for that exact reason… I DON’T KNOW HER. Oh and also…. I understand that you are entitled to your opinion but have you ever tried thinking positively? It truly works like magic. And everyone is beautiful in their own way, even you…although you make yourself sound like a not so beautiful person on the inside.

Alissa I know how to use bigger pictures. I deliberately use pictures that show the clothing item being referenced not the entire scene. If you want hi res pictures I suggest you check out abc.com

I admit Emily dresses waay to old for her actual age. Maybe Jef will lighten her up a bit…makeup removed significantly and a more casual look to her. I’d love to see here in an over sized sweatshirt and sweats sans face paint. She is still lovely so doesn’t need to lay that make up on wit such a heavy.

I think Ryan is wearing the shirt backward. Sometimes they make the backs like that on tank tops for girls, maybe its the same for guys. That would make sense.
