David Good’s Bachelor Pad Blog: Episode 5

I have to say starting out that this was by FAR the best episode I have seen so far.  The gameplay was great and some very unlikely couples have come out of this!

At the beginning of this episode Chris and Ed are really going at it with each other.  You can tell that the stress from being in the house is really starting to get to everyone.   I will admit that the stress is very high.  It is hard to know who is really telling the truth or if everyone is ganging up on you, it all can change so quickly.  STRESSFUL.

The first competition looks like it is going to be easy but turns out being very difficult.  They have to stack plates and cups on top of each other and carry them back and forth collecting more and more until they have six total.  Blakeley working at Hooters for 34 years has the clear advantage here.  She ends up winning but it was not easy for her.

Erica gives zero effort again.  She is my girl and I really like her but her lack of effort sometimes is very frustrating and I would never want to be her partner for anything on this show.

The guys are up next and Tony is partnered with Blakeley.  She is walking beside him the whole time coaching him on how to carry the plates and cups and I have to say it is one of the most annoying things I have ever seen.  If I were her partner I would’ve snapped and made her go sit in the corner.  HOWEVER it does seem to be working and Tony ends up winning the competition!

I was actually glad to see them win and to finally see Blakeley not pissed about something.

Blakeley gets to pick between two dates and wants a really fancy date so picks the overnight date assuming it is going to be this luxury villa, we will see…

Kalon and Lindzi get the other date and Blakeley flips when she sees the diamonds and Bentley key, their date better be even better.  Very romantic date, these two have really hit it off and he even drops the L word a few times talking about her!  Wow!  I have to say that they actually make a good couple.  Kalon has really grown on me on this show.

Hahahahahahaha. Blakeley and Tony get a Jeep, map, and TRAILER. She did not do a great job at hiding her disappointment in the beginning but she ends up being a good sport. Never in a million years would I see Tony and Blakeley together but they seem to be hitting it off on their date.  She bosses poor Tony around like a little kid and he just takes it.  They might actually be perfect for each other….. OPPOSITES ATTRACT RIGHT!

LETS GET TO THE GOOD STUFF NOW.  The rose ceremony is full of surprises!

Going into this Chris and Sarah seem to be the unanimous vote till Harrison comes in and tells everyone that there is going to be a twist.  Everyone will be voting for one of the girls and THEN whichever girl gets sent home gets to choose whom she wants to go home!!!!

This turns the whole house upside down.

Stags comes up with a GENIUS PLAN!  He gets his crew together and they decide to send Erica home but make it look like CHRIS is the one that is making everyone vote for her so when she gets sent home she will take Chris with her!  Wow.  It is an awesome idea.

Chris somehow gets wind of the plan somewhat and Erica is flipping out on him so he says “fine come with me” and takes Erica to the voting booth and shows her that he is not voting for her!  WOW WOW WOW!  What an amazing counter move.

Stags is now back in the living room sweating bullets with a look on his face like he just sh#t his pants.

Erica figures out that it was Stags that orchestrated the whole thing against her so now his genius plan is starting to look really bad for him.

Erica does end up getting sent home and sure enough takes Stags with her to the dismay of everyone there.

She then lights him up with some of the meanest stuff I have ever heard on a TV show.  Super uncalled for and I was not happy to see her embarrass herself like that.

Here is the thing.  At some point on this show you are going to have to lie to one of your friends or send one of them home.  She has to understand that and she handled it very poorly.  That is the game and that is part of it.

This was one of the best shows I have seen.  It was good to see some great strategy for once and some people really working it!  We also have seen some serious coupling up on this one.

Chris really pulled a rabbit out of a hat here and kept himself in the running.  I have no clue what next week holds in store for us.  This is gonna be wild!

See you next week!  Have a good one!

  1. Great blog! It was a great drama-filled episode, but I felt like the producers were manipulating the situation so that Blakely and Chris would stay.

I really dislike Erica from what I’ve seen on the show but she must have some good qualities since she has some friends in real life. If you could elaborate on that sometime it would be interesting because most of the fans hate her.

Sad to see Stags go – it WAS a genius move. The show will be different without him and his narration. I will stalk him too if you don’t mind.

  2. Great blog, Dave.

  3. Got to love Jesse C’s bitter posts! lol

The latest: Erica upset at ABC producers for bringing her on BP 3 when she could have taken the bar instead. She said she wasted time fooling around on stupid reality shows. No kidding. (Hey, Erica, take responsibility for yourself – no producers promised you either love or the prize. Heck, as Dave pointed out above, you didn’t even try.) As for love, do you really want to find love with a reality show contestant? If so, hook up with Prince Lorenzo again on UK Big Brother.

You will meet a guy on the job or just by living your life.

As for wasting your time, you got great TV exposure and are now a household name. That’s more than most 30 year olds. Build on that and do someething great.

  4. In case anyone is interested, here is the post on Erica slamming the produers (maybe they denied her request for her own reality TV show. otherwise why bite the hand that feeds you?)

  5. Wow Farts, Erica looks fabulous with that haircut! She should have chopped off that hair long time ago.

If those quotes are true, they’re pretty stupid. She could have said NO.

What did she get out of it? TV exposure. She’s been on Dr. Phil twice, some VH1 series for rich girls, who knows what else and on this Bachelor franchise 3 times.

If Erica really is like the shallow TV persona that she portrays, what she really needs to do is to go to a third world country and volunteer for at least a year, with no special treatment. She’ll see the horrors that mankind perpetrates on its fellow members and find out that most of the world lives in poverty. She’ll realize how fortunate she is and probably become a deeper person with a bigger heart.

  6. Thank you, Scmartz. I agree — Erica looks great in her new actress. Reminds me of Brittany Murphy. Serving in the Peace Corps would do wonders for her.

  9. Eica really believes she’s all that, & she’s obnoxious & made the biggest fool out of herself. She thought she was going to get all kinds of great offers by now, be famous, & find a guy, but it didn’t work out, so blame the producer’s because you could’ve taken the Bar Exam instead of wasting your time. You need to take responsibility for your decisions. You don’t want to be like that tool Csincsak that hates & blames everybody for his OWN failures. Puhleeeeez! At least you have a great career ahead of you, are very blessed in life…stop and think about it….you are well liked, pretty, funny, witty, brainy, but need to stop letting the princess ‘tude get in your way…be nicer to others, make amends with Michael (seriously, it was only a game and way over done). Good luck in your career.

  10. I think if she is slamming Fleiss that she is no longer a favorite. Perhaps Fleiss didn’t get the mileage he expected from her betrayal of Reality Steve. Maybe she is mad that Fleiss made her stab a friend (Reality Steve) in the back for opportunities only to have it blow up in her face. Erica is a great talent but she is just not popular with the viewers. Too much girl on girl kissing (what was that for? attention? ratings?)Too much sleaze. Too much cleavage. I don’t know. She has kind of ruined her credibility. She has the talent, but somehow seems to lack the discipline, motivation, or the “It” factor to get it all together.

I also think that Kalon privately fancies her. His sly remarks are his warped way of pulling her pony tails to get her attention.

    Comment by Applesshe — August 25, 2012 @ 10:23 pm

  11. The point I was trying to make (before I prematurely hit enter) was that if she’s bashing the producers, she probably has been Fleissed and found that her promised/expected opportunities didn’t pan out.

Look at who got the shows, Ally, Jillian, (possibly Emily). They watched their image and pleased TV execs. Erica is too much of a train wreck so she makes great reality TV, as Fleiss says, but the joke is really on her.

It’s a shame as I truly believe she has talent. Maybe she is just too lazy and privileged and doesnt understand that real accomplishment requires more than exposed boobs and slutty behavior. She needs to apply herself and ideally display good character and class. She just seems too lazy, like waiting for daddy to open the doors for her or thinking that merely showing up is enough for the gates to infinite success to open up to her.

At least Michael is motivated, hard working, and making things happen and busting his butt to make the most of his life and opportunities. Too bad he participated in this show as it appears to have hurt his reputation.

  12. Chris should not have been allowed 2 take Erica brat into the voting room. Never saw this happen before. Takes away from shows excitement – stop this non-sense. Or why have a special voting room? Just say your vote to everyone. Hope Chris gets smashed – go have his tantrums at home!

    Comment by Susan — August 26, 2012 @ 3:43 am

  13. Susan,

He makes it to final four. Then it’s up to fellow cast members. Given how he’s behaved, I can’t see many voting for him. He made his own STD-ridden bed. Now he has to lie in it.

    Comment by Mack — August 26, 2012 @ 7:26 am

  14. Fleiss sure did a big FU to the audience when he allowed Chris to bring Erica into the voting room. If Chris would have gone home, Fleiss would have been left with a lot less viewers, and couldn’t afford to let Chris go. He blatantly and abusively used his powers to change the game and keep Chris, the most controversial jerk in BP history. This was under-handed, blatantly desperate and should not been allowed to happen. This was a big FU to all of u people (borrowing that from someone on another site)! We all got played by Fleiss to keep Chris front and center.

  15. Jessie, what else do you expect from the brother of the Hollywood Madam and the King of Sleaze?

  16. How true, Mack.

  17. Appleshe, you keep saying Erica has talent. I’m wondering what she’s talented at?

Mack, if that’s true, I can’t believe I have to watch that dickhead till the end.

  18. Jeez Susan you could have kept this spoiler free, some of us actually don’t want to know in advance…

    Comment by WhiteLady — August 28, 2012 @ 1:17 am

  19. Stag Fan, She is pretty (yes others are prettier) and makes for great TV. She is calm, poised, articulate. She also seems to be very creative and imaginative. I feel she is artistic, literary and probably could be a greater writer. She is fun to watch and has great TV presence.

You should have seen her a few years earlier, when she was on Dr. Phil and Lorenzo’s season. She was a riot — so cute, like a caricature of a spoiled princess who was clueless but meant well. Since then, she seems very sloooooow (as if she takes valium) and has had too much plastic surgery so that her face looks unnature (The Joke comes to mind.)

I don’t feel she could host a Judge Judy type of show, which she aspires to do, since she is too lazy, unproductive, and unmotivated. She would be fun to watch on Saturday Night Live and could be an eccentric actress or design fun PR campaigns, maybe even design fashion or jewelry. She seems very creative and eccentric.

She has “talent,” unique though it is.

She is at least as talented as Paris Hilton, who makes $1 million to show at parties just to say things as profound as “that’s cool.” Without her makeup, Paris is quite homely. Erica is a cute girl, though she should lay off the botox and lip filler.

  20. Hey did anyone else notice that Fleiss took the Bachelor Pad board down? haha! Probably to prevent Reality Steve’s spoilers from appearing there. The lengths he goes to spoil RS’s spoilers! haha

  21. I looooove you Erica!!!!!!!

    Comment by Wahid — January 13, 2013 @ 9:46 am

  22. That was by far the best move Erica could’ve made. And Michael played nasty and deserved every word of her hate. The least he could’ve done is be honest with her when he formed his alliance. Or have some shame or regret that you’re backstabbing the person who you said you had their back from the start.
