Jenna’s “Over-Analyst” Blog: Episode 5

Hey there, Bachelor fans! I’m so delayed on my blog post, I know! Maybe The Bachelor isn’t my #1 priority anymore hehe. No, but really, I’ve just been cra cra busy (quoting Ben).

So here we are on episode 5. And dang, this season is good…addicting! Right? Courtney really is stirrin’ the pot. Having been on the show, I have to say that rejection is the biggest issue you have to deal with when you partake in an adventure like this one. No matter what, you fear it throughout the time (maybe not Courtney) or you eventually deal with it. But just like Lindzi said in her intro video, you gotta get back up in that saddle! I had the privilege to get to know all of you and you all are incredible women. Play nice!

First one-on-one goes to…

Nicki! Yes! Love, love, love this girl. She is the real deal. I think I’ve said this maybe 10+ times. But I truly mean it. She’s fun to be around and she’s a knockout. It was so endearing to see how excited Nicki got when she heard her name called out for the first one-on-one. I am so sure they had a fabulous day planned in San Juan but I think it was a better date because it rained. It was more of a “real date.” Sometimes you don’t really get a lot of alone time when you do big, extravagant things. One of my all-time favorite dates was Ashley & JP’s pajama party date. Because that’s real life! I was happy to see Nicki open up about her divorce. I think she’s in a really good place to move forward. She knows what went wrong and she knows what she wants for her future. So I’m definitely thinking Nicki will make it to the top 4!

Ha, I’m lovin’ Nicki’s nail polish…fun & quirky. Just like Nicki.

This game reminded me of one of my favorite movies! A League Of Their Own. Great movie. Ah man, I would have killed it in this game! I played softball all 4 years in high school. Just sayin’. BLAKELEY gave her all into this game. She reminds me of Mae in A League Of Their Own. See ya’ll? I told you, she’s got spunk and she really has a great heart. Who cares about her profession, she’s got game and she’s not afraid to get dirty (on the field, on the field)!

Kacie B. reminded me of Dottie in the movie. She kind of pumped everyone up on her team. “Come on bitches!” Kacie B., didn’t know you had it in ya.

And here our Ben is just sittin back letting both teams fight for his time. Rough life.

You all know how I feel about my “Luscious Lindz”. The 2 people that have the most confidence are Courtney and Lindzi but it’s a totally different type of confidence. Lindzi makes friends with everyone because she honestly doesn’t feel threatened by anyone. She knows this whole adventure is about finding a connection, not about winning. While Courtney is confident about Ben and her connection, she loves getting under people’s skin. I know she didn’t come on this show to make friends but my god, chill out babe.

And the rose goes to America’s Sweetheart! My mom (on the show). She absolutely deserved the rose. Kacie B. is a phenomenal listener. And I think it’s great that she has this natural gift to open Ben up. Just from getting to know Ben, it seems like it’s kind of hard for him to open up and he needs a girl who can be able to bring that other side of him out. These two just mesh well. AND Kacie B. seems so much more relaxed this episode than the last. I thought she was going to deteriorate just from watching the episode last week. I’m relieved because she’s one of my front-runners!

To be honest, this doesn’t surprise me. Courtney is very comfortable with her body. She models for a living. So how does she get his attention? She wants to get naked. I mean I’m all about spontaneity but on national television? Dang. I’m quite shocked that Ben wanted to even do this. If any other girl asked Ben to do this, he would have most likely said no. Is anyone picking up what I’m putting down? Yeah.

“An Alpha Female is a dominant female in a group. She dates as many males as she wants, is strong and confident, and a hard worker as well as often busy. She is usually sarcastic because she’s powerful and playful. Alpha Females are intelligent, intellectual problem solvers; and though being an alpha female is more of a state of mind than a physicality, an alpha understands that dressing up or sexy increases her power in society, so she does it. Alpha Females are often terribly misunderstood by Beta and lesser males, as evident by the other posts about Alpha Females, and when this happens, she’s called a bitch.” –Urban Dictionary

Couldn’t have said it better myself. It seems there are good and bad alpha females. I’m not certain about Courtney but I’m not liking what I am seeing so far. I just read an article in which a friend stands up and defends Courtney. I mean the girl has friends but who is this friend? That’s why I’m a little skeptical. Yeah, I get she’s sarcastic. So am I. But in one of Courtney’s interviews during episode 5, she said, “I think I’m winning.” And that’s where I knew. I think she’s in this to win it. She should have said, “I think I’m falling in love.” But Courtney speaks her mind and I have to admit, that’s the one thing I love that about her. How did you feel when Courtney said that, Benny boo?

Next one-on-one…Elyse! Their date was so lavish and out of a movie. Who doesn’t want to spend time on a yacht? It seemed like they had a great time on their date during the day. Ben was smiling. Elyse was opening up. Ben misunderstood what Elyse was trying to get across to him regarding her next steps in her life. She was trying to convey that she’s happy and in a good place and she’s really trying to find love to complete puzzle. At dinner, Ben brought it up again. I thought he was somewhat cold to Elyse. And I’m sure it made her nervous. Sometimes I don’t think Ben is very comforting in conversation (trust me, I know). So she fumbled for words and didn’t say exactly what he wanted to hear. It just seemed like he was searching for a way to make this date go bad. Elyse is a funny, funny girl. She was trying to make light of the situation by saying, “I’m tired of being single.” Who isn’t? But the heart wants what the heart wants. And Ben unfortunately has to start sending women home or this is just going to get crazier and crazier.

I remember us in the limo the first night, Elyse. And you actually made me feel at ease. You were funny and always laughing. I just know you will be just fine. You’re a beautiful woman inside and out. Ben just didn’t see it. On to the next!

Cocktail Party at the Rose Ceremony…

Like I said before, I’m torn on whether Emily should have spent her time talking about Courtney. But if someone is getting under your skin and it’s unavoidable, then it’s really hard to be yourself in a situation like this. Emily genuinely wants Ben to find happiness. And she is just looking out for his best interest. It is hard to listen to Courtney and her snarky comments. Isn’t a connection enough? Because the connection is clearly there with Ben & Courtney. So why badger the other girls? Unless “winning” is your objective then it makes sense.

Time for the Rose Ceremony. God, these moments always get me nervous. I guess I get a flashback of the nerves that are running through you when just wait and wait and wait some more for Ben to call your name.

The elimination was Jennifer tonight and it was shocking. Why kiss her when you are sending her home? Grrr.

Jennifer, my dear Jennifer, you did nothing wrong. I am certain you realize that by now. I read your press conference and absolutely agree with everything you said. I’m happy to see some chuckles in there. And I do think he could have sent other girls home but because you were falling faster than others, Ben probably felt like it would only get harder for you. My opinion is, at this point he already has his top 4 girls picked.

P.S. Already have a friend who is interested in meeting you;)

Okay, I have to point out that I saw some “behind the scenes” footage of Ben and my mouth literally dropped. Who is this dude? This is FOR SURE not the dude I met during my short time on The Bachelor. I met Ben #1. Now, if I would have met Ben #2…well, I’ll just keep that to myself. Very disappointed he wasn’t himself (at least with me). I hope we get to see more Ben #2 because he is by far more attractive and more fun to be around. If Courtney makes it to the end, I think it might be the most confusing relationship. What if Courtney #1 doesn’t get along with Ben #2? And what if Ben #1 doesn’t get along with Courtney #2? I’m confusing myself. ANYWAYS….

Bachelor 16 girls + Shawntel…

Someday, someone will walk into your life and make you realize why it never worked out with anyone else AKA Ben #1, Ben #2, Nadal…whatever.

I hope you all don’t regret partaking in this adventure because I definitely don’t. I hope you had a hell of a good time, learned a lot about yourselves and made some great friendships. I will always consider all of you great friends. I think it’s kind of cool that I can tell my kids one day, “Mommy went on The Bachelor and acted a little nutty!”

I can’t wait for the next episode! Casey S., I hope everything is okay. You look so sad  I’m LOVING this season, probably because I know everyone.

Until next time!

Love & Peace,

Jenna

You are so sweet in talking about all the girls and I think that it is amazing how you’ve taken such an optimistic approach to the whole situation. I hope you realize how wonderful you are! 2. Really absolutely looooooooooove your blog.. :) :) I’m completely and totally an overanalyst too, AND am a writer, so when I saw you on the show, I just was ROOTING for you so totally.. :) One thing that is just bugging me though, and I kind of doubt it was your mistake, but thought I’d comment in case it was, the blog was actually from Ep 5, not 6… -_- Sorry? The last thing I want to do is insult you, but……. I’m nitpicky :P That said, I cannot wait to read further blogs… You rock :D

  7. I like some of your insight, but you look like you’re “borrowing” from Ashley Spivey’s screen capture and title style. There’s no bachelor copyright blog legalities, but just saying…

  8. This is the most interesting season I’ve seen thus far, as well as the most jaw-dropping. I don’t know if I should or can defend Courtney and Ben anymore. The more I see Courtney, the more I realize the kind of person she is (or is being), and the more I don’t like her. Disappointing because I give everyone a chance.

  10. I CANT STAND COURTNEY! On one of Chris’ blogs he says he
can see why Ben is attracted – she is the only one making
advances on Ben. There are more than one women – I am sure the rest feel like there are rules, lines not to be crossed…..a normal person would. I was SO SO SO disappointed that Ben came from a one on one date and then goes out skinny dipping with another women. My opinion of him dropped a lot. He did redeeme himself a
bit when he didn’t go to her room the next time she pretty
much told him she would be waiting for him. But he needs to get rid of him – she isn’t what he needs.

  11. I am not a hater. Just a person with an opinion. Do you have a blog on fashion week then>? I didnt know. Would explain the lateness of this post. Where can we find that?
    :) xoxoxo

  12. Sorry, Jenna, but I thought you seemed a bit psychotic on the show. I looked up your blog after seeing you on the first episode and on here you seem cool and mature and fashionable, but not on The Bachelor. Super weird. You cried THE WHOLE TIME and were so neurotic…
