Marissa May: An Insiders’ Look at Episode 2

Hello, again! Second episode of The Bachelorette is in the bank and I’m already addicted! I’m really excited to get to know each of the guys better to figure out who may be best for Ashley – and who would be best for me! :)

When that first date card arrives it makes everything very real…it’s the start of the journey to find love and while everything is in their hands, I know they hope the good luck Gods are on their side and hand over a one-on-one date!

First one-on-one goes to Will and you can see the disappointment pass across some of the front-runners’ faces. While I was never in that position, I saw Ashley S. go through it week one so I can imagine what some guys are feeling. Often times being a front-runner means waiting a while to get a one-on-one because the bachelor or bachelorette may already know where they stand and need to figure out what they think of others that may be on the fence.

Some of you may have thought Ashley’s date with Will was cruel or awkward, but I thought it was a great way to break the tension and see how light-hearted William was. He was a great sport and, by the middle of the date, had won me (and many of you) over to become one of my faves!

The group date card comes and I.Am.So.Jealous! First official week and the guys are already traveling! Just when I think the show can’t top the previous season they pull out Vegas from the get-go! I love that all the guys jumped in and really tried to come up with unique dances to impress Ashley. While Ash is a dancer, I know the effort they put in outweighs their skill and I’m betting the effort wasn’t lost on her.

Second one-on-one and it comes down to a coin toss to determine who goes! Let me tell ya, if I were put in that situation I would’ve been ticked! Yes, it’s only week one, but time alone is so valuable. Mickey opened up to Ash and I see them having a romantic connection but I don’t know if I see a big enough spark between them to lead into a full-fledged relationship. It will be interesting to see what path they take.

Cocktail party time, and the claws are already coming out! Some things that stood out for me: great move by Nick teaching Ashley some cute dance steps. Bad move by William interrupting time between Ashley and Nick, since he already has a rose. Throughout the cocktail party you hear William rubbing in the details of his date and he crosses that cocky/confident line I talked about last week.

It’s crazy how quickly a guy can go from being loved to being hated! Will definitely dropped in my book and if he keeps the cockiness up, I don’t see him lasting long. Again, Bentley drops plenty of one-liners that leave us wishing he were gone last week. Keep in mind Ashley doesn’t hear any of his interviews so all she knows is Bentley is a guy that has a way with words and is making overtures about his serious intentions with Ashley. I’m pretty sure many ladies out there have been attracted to a guy they shouldn’t want, but Ashley has to see for herself before she realizes Bentley’s wrong for her.

I’m slightly adjusting my front-runners: JP, Ryan P, Blake and Ben C. Ben C. managed to sneak his way in and I think he may start to win Ashley over in the coming weeks!

Can’t wait for next week and hopefully some nice looking pool-side shots of the guys!

  1. I agree about William. I was very disappointed to see him “rubbing” in all the details of their date to the other guys. I did not like that he stole Ashely away when he did already have a rose. But I also just realized how hard it would be to NOT talk about such an AMAZING date like that. I can image he would be bursting at the seams to be able to tell someone just how amazing their date was! Unfortunately the only people around to tell….are guys who are also looking to win over Ashley’s heart. Although after watching the episode William also dropped in my book, now I’m still not sure how I feel.

  2. I could have just creamed William when he interrupted Ashley and Jeff, just when Jeff seemed to be on the verge of removing his mask at the cocktail party!!

  3. Of course Will was going to be excited about his date! Who could blame him for wanting to talk about it?! And as for interrupting Ashley and Jeff?? Jeff is still wearing a mask!! I think he fully deserves to get interrupted!

  4. I thought William was funny even when he was recounting the details of his date. The girls dish about their dates. Why can’t the guys. It was pretty cool. Now, he didn’t HAVE to refer to her as his fiance’ but that cracked me up too. AND, I don’t have a problem with him trying to get a minute or two in at the cocktail party. Was he just supposed to slink away? That’s the equivalent of not calling after a great date! LOL! The other guys need to buck up and make some moves. At least he seems to like her – unlike that Bentley dude who’d rather swim in pee than have that kind of date with her. Looks like William will step over the line in the next episode, though, so I think he’s going to be a goner sooner than later. He has to learn when to tone it down.
