Michael Stagliano’s Bachelor Pad Blog: Episode 7

Blog friends,

Sorry for the delay in getting the blog up this week. I was out of town in Washington visiting my sister for the long weekend in Ellensburg. Went to the Rodeo, laughed a whole bunch, it was awesome…

But reading about my weekend is not why you clicked the link, so…

Let’s get to it.

We are down to 4 couples; it’s the last stage before the finale. While I was obviously no longer in the competition, I was surprised to learn that they changed up the format for how the 2 couples went into the finale. Last season 4 couples made it to the finale CHALLENGE. The couple that was deemed the worst went home, the couple that did the best chose the other couple going to the big dance with them…

This year they divided that process into 2 challenges, with 2 similar game mechanics…curious…

First up is a trivia-meets-dunk-tank type challenge where one person sits at a table and answers questions about the Bachelor/ette/Pad franchise, while the other ‘hangs out’ on a swing. Each missed answer equals one rope being cut that holds up the swing. Three cuts and you’re swimming.
Sarah MURDERS the competition – Chris and Sarah pick up yet ANOTHER win (Their 7th, I think?… wow) and are both very surprised they will be sticking around another week! (As are the rest of us!)

They end up sending Blakeley and Tony packing, and it crushes Blakeley. Tears, more tears, but a lot of light at the end of the tunnel when they get in the limo and realize they have each other, something way more valuable than the $$$. Love it.

Jaclyn/Ed, Chris/Sarah, Rachel/Nick move forward to the second challenge of the episode and… oh…my…god!!! It’s AWESOME.

So, (here’s some back-story) we wrapped up filming months ago for this season of Pad, and when I talked to Rachel after she left the house, she mentioned this challenge and described it as a ‘karaoke’ challenge… I remember thinking how stupid that sounded (little television, blue lyrics on the screen, microphones with cables attached???) I was BLOWN AWAY by how big and bad the concert was!

I laughed hysterically watching/listening to all 3 couples practice, and loved every second of the performances… Yes, at times I couldn’t watch because my hands were covering my eyes… but for the most part I thought each pair went all out. It takes a LOT of guts to get up there and do that, whether you have singing ability or not.

  1. Michael,

My opinions about you don’t mean anything since we don’t know each other and I won’t buy itunes, so I am not a demographic you need to worry about.

However, for what it’s worth, I am no longer a fan. (Who cares, right?)

I thought your behavior was deplorable as it lacked integrity. I feel you used Rachel (for warm fuzzies) knowing you weren’t interested. You misrepresented yourself, claiming you were there for love when you had an interest at home already. You threw friends, like Erica, under the bus, to advance in a game you admitted to not even wanting to play.

Plus all that kissing — a fan, to honor her with your tongue, and Rachel, because she was there and hot. It seemed you would have gone for Lindzi if she had given you a chance.

All around, not too impressive. You remind me of these bachelor guys who suddenly think they are living a male fantasy and can exploit their harem. In the end, this behavior compromises their substance and reputation.

Ed will never recover. What a bed he’s made for himself. I don’t know if you were going for the bad @ss rocker vibe, but part of your appeal was your decency, wholesomeness, sweetness, etc.

I feel that this franchise ruined you. Just because everyone else acts slutty is no reason for you to join them. Your mother didnt raise you to be that way. Emily and others conducted themselves with class throughout as did Kalon, Ames, and others.

Now, you seem different, fixated on muscles/image, arrogant, thinking you are God’s gift to women, etc.

As I said, who cares what I think, as my thoughts will in no way impact your bottom line. Whereas before I thought you were one of the greatest talents from this franchise (with your breakdancing debut on Jillians’ season and your Jim Carrey(sp?)-esque personality.)

Now you’re just another cynical, sleazy bachelor contestant, or at least that’s the image you convey.

I have news from you, quickly the years will go by and you will have squandered your substance, lost years of your life, compromised your reputation, and had little to show for it. I feel you have lost more than you gained.

Hey, if you want a life of groupies, free $ex, and smokey lounge singing, I guess you’re doing everything right. I am very disappointed in you but wish you the best.

  2. @Appleshe, you couldn’t have said it better, my sentiment exactly, I’m no longer a fan of Michael as well. I would so much prefer him to come clean and be honest about it, just tell us the truth that he was on the show for fame or promoting himself, he had someone back home before the show, he played Rachel and he screwed up, instead, he was denying, throwing a ton of excuses. I don’t buy it anymore. He had a similar story like Ed who also had someone back home before the show, but at the very least, Ed did not try to hide it from the audience or the girls on the show. What you see is what you get, now I feel I have been a complete fool to have been such a huge supporter of Michael for so long! Michael – you picked the sweetest girl on the show to play her heart with – BIG MISTAKE!

  5. Wow, I’ve been away from the blogs for too long.

Can anyone tell me what happened to Ashley’s comment section? Why was it taking down?

  6. @ Appleshe, I don’t necessarily agree with you on everything you said, as there could be some circumstances we don’t know about. We only know what we’ve been shown or have heard and then we make our own presumptions.

But wow, that was well-written. Do you write professionally or just have a lot of writing experience?

  7. Appleshe, Perfectly said. Yes, it’s escapism television, but there are a few who have held themselves above the fray. His behavior with the fan was cringe worthy and his treatment of Rachel lacked morals and integrity. Very sad to see him fall.

  8. I still love Michael Stagliano! Obviously he would want to move forward in the game in order to have more time with Rachel which was a really sweet relationship that obviously needed some more time to develop! Unfortunately, you eventually have to start voting out friends and Erica was NOT part of the alliance. It would have said worse of him if he had voted out someone who he pledged loyalty to. I still think Michael is a great person and will continue to whatever happens on the finale! Michael, if you are reading this I wish you all the best, I am a huge fan, and I LOVE your music!

  9. Go away, Michael! We’re bored of you already!

  10. Oh, man. I am so stoned right now. I can’t believe I’m wasting my time on this kind of entertainment. Thank God the few people I confessed to that I watch this stuff have never watched it so they don’t know how shallow it is. Fleiss must be using an evil subliminal signal on this show to keep us addicted to watching it.

  11. You stated that you were on BP3 for love, not to win. You gave Rachel the impression that you were interested in her based on the cuddle sessions we got to witness. If you didn’t find lasting love, none of your fans would be upset, but what does upset us, is that you just dismiss Rachel’s feelings after you led her on. Before you left the show, you should have told her that you did not see the relationship going any further. We would all be able to accept that.

It was easy to accept all the sympathy last year when everyone was beating up on Blake and Holly. You reveled in it. You sold concert tickets based on it. It helped your career.

When Holly and Blake tried to explain that the producers would not let Holly talk to you prior to the finale to explain the engagement, you never once defended them, knowing it was true. You wanted all the glory and attention. Well, karma is a bitch, because now you are getting attention, but for the wrong reasons.

We all make mistakes or act in a way that we may regret, but when we exploit others mistakes to make ourselves feel better and become more popular, it will always come back to haunt us. We also will make mistakes, or use poor judgement at some time, and being on the receiving end of criticism is not fun, especially when it is on national television.

You stayed on reality tv too long. Your imperfections are shining brightly.

  12. I just hate all the hating on you Michael.
Don’t know what happens at the finale, don’t read RS.
Will wait to see for myself how it all comes down but have totally enjoyed reading your blog. Was also totally impressed that you didn’t go back at Erica Rose when she went postal on you. Don’t know what happens with you and Rachel. Hope it works but if it doesn’t there is someone out there for you.
    Nothing but love for you!

  13. I don’t like how you hurt Rachel, Michael, but don’t completelty agree with the harshness. I’ve read a few things you’ve said recently and you realize you made a mistake. A big mistake. However, I believe every one of us has probably led someone on at one time or another and feel bad afterwards. But, not on national TV. I tend to believe you do have good morals and values, but know you did wrong, and feel bad about it. I put it down to a good person making a big mistake, unfortunately, on national TV.

  14. I think it is so funny that people come onto this blog and then leave hateful comments at the end. If you “aren’t a fan anymore” then why are you on his blog? You’re either a.)wasting your time b.)a cyber-bully or c.)have such a miserable existence that you feel the need to bash someone else. Sheesh, go find something better to do…bake some cookie, do a crossword puzzle, WATCH A DIFFERENT SHOW (if this one upsets you so much)…get a life.
Anyways, great blog as always Michael!

  15. This whole reality show is such a joke. Cannot believe people are so invested in the players and take it so seriously. Of course, those on the show are no doubt there for the money.

As I have always said about SURVIVOR. The first season, the participants had no idea what was to happen. Any subsequent seasons, I don’t feel any sympathy for anyone who is in the dark.

Same goes for all reality shows.

  17. Awesome episode!! So fun to watch. Loved the “Sister Christian” competition. That’s a hard song to sing. Great job Nick and Rachael, loved the trivia competition too. Chris and Sarah are so fun together. Can’t wait for next week!!!!

  18. Did i miss something? is Michael and Rachael not together anymore???

    Comment by Michello — September 6, 2012 @ 1:48 pm

  19. @Huh and Skylar- Ashley’s comments section were taken down because people were continuously posting spoilers even after she specifically requested in her blog that they not do that. Some people don’t want to know how it ends, so the comments were taken off out of respect for those people.

  20. Thanks, Beth. Man that’s obnoxious! These comment sections are getting so mean…

  21. Michael, How do you spell sleazzzzzzzzbag? Michael Stagliano. You should have considered yourself lucky to be with a gorgeous woman like Rachel. Your nervous twitching eyes and literally big mouth, short stature (a sure sign of your other stature) shows nothing but a pathetic arrogant two-faced liar. The only reason you have been liked so far is because of your charm, but your true self is showing thru now.

    Comment by Paula — September 10, 2012 @ 7:12 pm

  22. @Paula- Are you serious? I am indifferent towards Michael at the moment, but what you’re saying is crazy. Maybe his eyes twitch cause he has a tic and can’t help it. Everybody has a mouth, don’t think he could decide how big his was going to be. Short stature? For most of my life thus far, I have been one of the shortest in my class. I am not arrogant. If you were saying “stature” as in his achievements, well he has a CD out and is on tour which is probably more than you. Oh yeah, and he won 125k. Boom.
