Michael Stagliano’s Bachelor Pad Blog: Episode 5
OH, well that was fun to watch, yes?
Let’s break down exactly what WENT DOWN on Episode 5 of BP3.
…Erica…it’s a race.
So it’s challenge day. But before we get there, everyone is unmistakably on board with sending Chris and Sarah home. Even during the challenge, everyone in the house was basically cheering for anyone that wasn’t those two people. While we all truly did like Chris and Sarah as people (and still do), after the fiasco the night before, it was just their time to go. It is NEVER a good idea to put yourself before your alliance… Chris did that, took Sarah with him…and that led into a challenge day that made the winner REALLY important to the outcome of the rest of the game.
The Great Fall of China…. a very clever name… a very lame challenge.
While I can admit it was intense, and physical, tested your ability to remain focused and calm (all good things)… I don’t know… It’s stacking mugs and saucers… Do I need to say anything else???
Blakeley and Tony come away with the win and they seriously earned it. That won them both the roses for the girls and the guys, AND the OPTION to choose the first or second date.
They went with the latter and gave Kalon and Lindzi the first date. A little insider scoop here: this decision was an example of our alliance staying strong AND giving Lindzi and Kalon a chance to go on a date. They hadn’t been out of the house together (Kalon, ever) we were all happy to see T&B give them the date.
I don’t know if it came across on camera but they LOOKED SO GOOD that night; they totally fit the part: Bentley’s, jewelry, suits, and dresses… they were glowing with excitement…and as we would soon find out… LOVE.
They have dinner on a bridge; Kalon opens up about his feelings for Lindzi and how surprised he was by her. Lindzi reciprocates the feelings, and for two people who have been somewhat in the background together always in each other’s arms and locking lips… I was glad to see them have some solid airtime expressing their newfound love. I really enjoyed my time with both of them. They are loving, supporting people; both very smart, and fun to be around.
They come back; date card arrives for Tony and Blakeley. They have a monster of a Jeep waiting for them in the driveway and it is there to take them camping…
Blakeley is, at first, NOT on board with the bugs and the outdoors, and is kicking herself for not taking the first date and nabbing those jewels. The night goes on and we see them actually have a really good time! Blakeley was MUCH more relaxed with Tony and I’d feel comfortable saying that everyone in the house, in our alliance and out of it… was happy to see Blakeley with Tony. And I’d like to go one step further by saying, I LOVE THOSE TWO. They were like my brother and sister in the house. We absolutely had each other’s back, I NEVER had to question things with them, and am so happy they found each other.
Back at the house, Chris was stirring things up again, making a move to get Lindzi off… he was well aware of the fact that there was only one target in the house and that it was on HIS back… so he starts plotting against his former alliance: Ed, Jaclyn, Kalon, Lindzi, Myself, Rachel, Tony and Blakeley. We were all feeling supremely confident that that was NOT going to happen…
…Then Chris Harrison walks in.
He announces the TWIST, that one girl was going to be voted off and that that girl would choose a guy to go home with her.
It didn’t air this way, but as soon as he made that announcement, I IMMEDIATELY got up from the couch and packed my bags. This was BAD news for our alliance, namely me.
In case you are unsure of how it all went down, I’d like to clarify A few things…
1. I (our alliance) absolutely tried to strategically send Erica home.
2. Rachel and I did NOT vote for Erica, we wanted to be “truthful” in telling Erica that we voted for Lindzi.
3. We both knew there was no way Lindzi was going to go home based on our numbers, so it was a white lie, or a black truth.
Honestly, I feel like our plan had a very good chance of working UNTIL Chris took Erica into the voting room. That made my chances of staying slim to none.
