Episode 10:  The men not only tell all, they fight, cry, look like even bigger losers than they ever did before, and most clearly think they are famous now.

The episode opens up with, wait for it…a very long, repetitive and exhausting recap.  Then we get to see never before seen footage of Emily singing to Travis’s Ostrich Egg (Shelley) goodnight, her swearing up a storm over spilt wine, and the Beiber twins staring at her and Arie’s kiss on his hometown date.  Next, we see the promo for Bachelor Pad 3, and this is where I want to get Lindzi Cox some therapy for admitting to having a crush on the feminine, super irritating Kalon.  Oh, and don’t even get me started about Ed being on Bachelor Pad 3.  I have issues with people going on the Pad who were once engaged to someone from the show.  I find it highly disrespectful.  From the rumors I hear surrounding the season, Ed proves to be disrespectful to his past and harmful to his future.

Re-Introduction of Guys:  Who are half these people?

It’s faces like this that make me shudder.

This is the PERFECT example of a guy who goes on the show and lets his whole world blow up into thinking he is the most famous person ever.  ”I’m gonna stick my tongue out like a cheesy imbecile, because in my mind, the ladies are obsessed with me and this is my humbled out look.” -Ryan.

Charlie’s tongue action wasn’t nearly as moronic as Ryan’s.  His was more of an uncomfortable, shy tongue stick out.  What bothers me the most in this photo is the fact that I still can’t believe that thing on the right ever got cast for this show.  I mean, seriously, look at Stevie.  WOW.

Other than Joe flashing a gang symbol during his intro and the entire audience “boo-ing” Kalon, the rest of the guys gave a pretty normal wave.  We’ve only just begun and I already can’t handle how the guys presented themselves during their introductions.

This is where it gets amusing!  Watching all the guys talk over each other to extend their 15 minutes, and in turn look like a bunch of bratty teenage girls is always comical.  John starts it off by trying to answer every question Chris Harrison has for them.  Next, Travis feels nervous without his egg and words begin to foam out of his mouth.

We then go to a montage on Emily where we hear a collection of quotes throughout the season talking about how beautiful Emily is.  This is getting creepy to me.  Yes, Emily is gorgeous, but that’s all they ever show the guys saying about her.  I’ve heard more than too many times that Emily is the prettiest bachelorette so far on this series from her suitors and it makes the air every time.  Why is this show obsessing over her looks to such extremes where it’s ALL they talk about vs. all the other incredible qualities she has?  She has a lot more to offer than just her looks.  She is an incredible person!  Isn’t that sort of rude to past bachelorette’s?  Especially when they are all gorgeous?  Um, Hello!  Deanna Pappas! Deanna is so naturally beautiful and THAT is hard to come by.  Jillian Harris?  Lovely!   I honestly feel bad for Emily…she is probably super annoyed they are making such a big deal about her looks.  And poor Ashley Hebert.  She already had to deal with Bentley and every other insecurity she had that the guys wanted Emily more than her, now she has to watch this?  Is anyone else noticing how ridiculous this is?

Moving on.  Chris gets defensive about his age again, John continues to try to narrate the tell all by interrupting and making pointless remarks, and Doug just looks embarrassed that he even has to be a part of this.

Check out this Dad in the audience.  Looks like someone got forced by his wife to take her and the kids to this live taping.  Wow.  This is the face I’m more than likely making when 99% of the male population tries to make small talk with me in a social setting.  BORING.

Let’s get this straight.  Kalon not only gets facials, he spray tans, gets Botox and definitely injects his lips.  This is what I can tell alone from watching him on TV.  He is more girly than most of my girlfriends.   He tells Chris Harrison that if someone else arrived in a helicopter that he would be genuinely interested to hear their story.  Barf!

Hot Seat: Kalon

This boy is ridiculous.  His time in the hot seat sums up like this:  He doesn’t regret or apologize for anything he said.  He doesn’t think he was offensive.  After throwing Ryan under the bus a million times (which he deserved), he then claimed he was best friends forever with an embarrassed Chris and Tony.  Chris Harrison even laughed at how embarrassed Tony was to admit to a friendship clearly formed on Bachelor Pad.  Tony, Ryan and Kalon are the ones who I can see being friends, not my Chris!  My only hope is that Chris is in the final 4 of Bachelor Pad and he is trying to befriend Kalon as part of his strategy to win a vote.

Hot Seat: Ryan

Chris Harrison announces, “Coming up, he thought he was the most popular man in the house, but it turned out, not so much.  Ryan will join us in the hot seat.”  After he announces this, the camera scans Ryan’s face and he is smiling and winking at the audience.  He thinks he is so hot!  He thinks this is a roast, but no, they are definitely straight up making fun of him.

Even though this entire hodgepodge of all things Ryan is collective footage of him acting like a jerk off, Ryan still doesn’t get that people are making fun of his ego and stares at himself adoringly as the audience laughs.  O.M.G.

This audience members face says it all!  Yes, we are with you anonymous audience member.  We also cannot believe that Ryan brought up the “I’d love you, but not love on you” line and actually owned it.

As Chris tries to wrap up the conversation in an attempt to get the hot head outta the hot seat, Ryan actually says, “What about the trophy wife comment?  You want to touch on that?”  Chris just tells him he is making it worse.  Then Ryan continues to try to get a couple more words in to extend his time in the hot seat in order to keep the focus on him… and they are these.  ”I’m not making it worse.  I’m looking for a prize, man.”  And there you have it…famous last words.  Ryan couldn’t even get on Bachelor Pad.  How about that blow to his ego? Even after all of this, I guarantee he still thinks he has a shot at becoming the next bachelor.  Wowza!

Hot Seat:  Chris

Aside from if you liked him for Emily or not, just focus on him physically.  How can you not find him inanely gorgeous?!  Come on, ladies (and some men)!!! I happen to actually love his personality too.  He was definitely one of my favorites this season.  Guys like Ryan will never understand how to be real like Chris, and for that I actually feel bad for Ryan.  Chris is a very wise 25 year old.

Hot Seat:  Sean

He speaks about how his heart was broken for the first time, and that he is glad his family has been such an awesome support.  He is aching, but glad he knows what it feels like to be hurt.  Yada lada shmada. Boring.  Can we make fun of Kalon and Chris more, please?  Sean is simply too normal to entertain me today.  That’s a compliment;)

Hot Seat:  Emily

I am a huge fan of this sexy, cherry red cocktail dress.  Short in length and hugging her curves, Emily looks fierce in this little number!

Of course Tony runs up to give Emily a hug.  Of course.  This Muppet loving guy struck a nerve with me the second he signed on to Bachelor Pad 3.  He cried like a little girl about how much he missed his son, and when a lot of people gave him shit, I stuck up for him.  He left the Bachelorette, because he couldn’t handle being away from his son, which I thought was commendable at the time.  But then…oh but then…he signs on to do the Bachelor Pad?!  A show where singles go to not only win money, but get a little scandalous?!  I heard that he wasn’t just there for the money.  Nope!  He definitely thought with the wrong head with more than one woman.  Long story short, he didn’t go on Pad only for the money (which would have been his only excuse as to why he went on TV AGAIN and left his son AGAIN after a ridiculous exit on Bachelorette), he went on for fun and the ladies.  If Doug went on Bachelor Pad, I can almost promise you he wouldn’t be hooking up with girls.  He is a true role model to his son.  Had he felt feelings for one of the girls, I’m sure he would have waited 4 weeks until filming was done to make a move off camera.

After heart felt moments with Sean and Chris, Emily is about to make some captivating TV!  As she tells Doug she regrets not giving him the group date rose in London, she thanks him for standing up for her.  She fears otherwise she could have married Kalon.  Chris Harrison asked her immediately after, “Do you think you ever could have married Kalon even if he hadn’t said those things?”  Emily’s response was one big hilarious, “NO.”

Emily is not buying into Kalon’s bullshit apology and I love it!  At first I thought maybe she was being a little harsh, BUT THEN, she called him out on his tweet calling Ricki baggage, again!  He then continued to tweet, “Sorry I’m not sorry?!”   What a dimwit this guy is!  He tries to be a smart ass and thank her for following him on twitter?!  I’d get up and pop his silicone lips with a ball point pen.  FYI, Kalon, she wasn’t following you on twitter.  She said a post popped up on her computer, meaning obviously after you sent that tweet, thousands of people were going to send it to her and make her aware.

To sum things up, Kalon is still a loser, Ryan thinks he is even cooler now then he did before, and I got to see Chris’s package through my unedited version of this episode.

All Lies.  My DVD came with the black box, too.  Shux.

  1. You go girl!!! Too funny. You certainly did not hold back on your opinions and I love it. I do not agree with them all, but I am happy to hear a past member be totally honest about what they are thinking and not just saying the politically correct things.

I totally agree with what you said about Ashley Hebert and other past Bachelorettes. The producers and Chris Harrison are so mesmerized by Emily that they continually insult all the other girls trying to make Emily seem like a Goddess. I would take most Bachelorettes over Emily. The other girls had facial expressions, showed emotions, showed a zest for life, and a little bit of fun. Emily maybe a sweet person but she has zero personality and is no fun and definitely not adventurous.

Ashley and JP’s season was the best, I don’t think they will ever be able to recreate the love that we got to witness between these two.

I have not enjoyed this season and am anxiously awaiting BP3 and Michael and Rachel!!

  2. Natalie, Do you ever respond to comments? If so, I’d like to know if you think young women are faced with more effete, “girly” men (a la Kalon)than in my day (’70′s)? I like seeing young men be so open with their emotions—that’s great—I envy you that.
Enjoy your blogs! ~Another former Chicagoan :)

  3. Gosh, Natalie, this is so funny…well, so honest. i love that you say it like it is. Basically although this season had a great handful of guys, a lot of them were just there for the fame which is ridic. Kalon can fall out of his helicopter for all we care.i dont understand how someone can be that rude?! and i cant get over lindzi and him. double barf.
*can we watch an episode together?! i think that would be the best!

  4. I’d love to see Ryan as the next Bachelor, I think his season would be so entertaining to watch.

Emily has beauty AND brains. She has a good sense of character. She carries herself in a mature classy manner. She was very respectful and sweet to all the men. I found this season enjoyable to watch. I’ve watched every season and liked all the bachelor’s and bachelorette, but Emily is my favorite because I’m a single mother and I can relate to Emily.

  5. Good blog, but two points.

    1. do not see what’s so attractive about chris. seems to be either women love his look or hate it.

    2. ripping on Stevie by calling him “that thing” is a bit much.

    Comment by Laur — July 18, 2012 @ 12:45 pm

  6. If you think there’s anything wrong with men or women getting plastic surgery you’re living in a TIME WARP!!!It’s a blessing that we have medical technology like that or we’d be stuck using Oil of Olay our whole lives and looking like frankenstein at 45.

    Comment by Courtney — July 18, 2012 @ 12:59 pm

  7. You certainly have some strong opinions, some I agree with and some I don’t. I honestly could barely stand watching last night because they kept showing Chris and his angry/pout face. To me, it was terribly ugly. I didn’t feel so at the beginning of the season, but the way he’s conducted himself and continues to do so is a huge turn off to me. What was up with that guy? He has got one massive chip on his shoulder! And sorry, but he is an incredibly immature guy, picking fights with other guys, whining about how mature he is, calling him self better than the other guys, and sleeping around with 3 women on bachelor pad when he is supposedly so dang heart broken over Emily. You could see “I totally dodged a bullet with this crazy train!” written all over Emily’s face when she talked to him. I don’t think she would have addressed him at all if Chris Harrison didn’t bring it up and force her into a conversation to help Chris have closure.

Ryan, I have to say, grew on me this season. He seems the direct opposite of Chris–probably same arrogance, but instead of attacking other guys all the time and getting mad at everyone, he’s carefree and playful with it. Honestly, he was a breath of fresh air last night compared to all the Jerry-Springerish comments others had for each other. He took the feedback in stride and seemed to be in on the joke/make fun of himself too. I’ve read quite a few comments on other blogs where other women found him hilarious and there are quite a few that wouldn’t mind him as the next bachelor! I think it’s the light-hearted element he brings, and that he doesn’t focus on negativity. At the same time, I can only take him in small doses. He may have a big ego, but at least he’s funny with it, and doesn’t take offense from others :) His tongue-sticking out to me came across as a way to pave over the awkard-sauce of seeing the girl that dumped you again on national TV.

Kalon–RIGHT ON with those comments. I actually saw the tweets Kalon put out there about “Sorry I’m Not Sorry” before the show. What a jerk. TO know you offended someone so deeply and then continue to openly make fun of it? What is Linzi thinking?? Guess there goes her chances as bachelorette!

Agree with you about how they talk about how Emily is one of hte best bachelorette’s ever, I thought of poor Ashley and her insecurities with it all. IMO, Emily has been my favorite bachelorette, but it’s not because of her beauty, but because of her values, class, and sass. I am fascinated with how she can conduct herself as a lady, but then also stand her ground with fierceness.

Ok, I guess hearing your strong opinions helped bring out mine too :) Am really loving your blogs this season! Thanks for posting, hope you don’t mind I have different thoughts on all this! :)

  8. PS – Sad about your Stevie comment :( Stevie may have not been the most attractive guy there, and a little annoying, but he had a good heart. I think he was cast because of his personality and good nature. Compare that with Charlie sitting next to him….if you read the comments on People today by someone who was there for the show, you’d know that Emily went WV HoodRat on him at the show too. She said she didn’t appreciate him making fun of her all the time and dissing her in media reports afterward. She put him in his place with a couple of Kalon-like zingers too. Interesting we didn’t see that, and Charlie has been able to now maintain his image as a big gentle teddybear. I don’t buy it!

PLUS if you read Christ Harrison’s blog–he outright asked Ryan to be on the next season of Bachelor Pad! He thought Ryan was hilarious too. FYI~!

    Comment by Beth — July 18, 2012 @ 1:15 pm

  9. I agree with you about all the comments about Emily’s looks. I think when a woman is as drop dead gorgeous as she is, they tend to focus on her looks more than her personality. Of course Emily has it all. Hopefully her final one will realize that — and I think he does. I agree also that Chris is an extremely good looking man. However, he has annoyed me the last few weeks. He is just too intense and tends to get so easily riled up. He needs to mellow out. Ryan, on the other hand, I kind of like despite the fact that is so arrogant. There IS something charmingly bad boy about him. The only person who really seemed offended by him was Chris. Kalon on the other hand, is just a complete a** and I’m glad Emily called him out again!

    Comment by Sarah — July 18, 2012 @ 1:27 pm

  10. Just read an article in the Hollywood Reporter. There was conversation with the men saying Emily told them all the same thing. Some negativity directed at Emily that the producers chose to not show, which further emphasizes the fact that they will not show anything negative about Emily. Not sure why she gets better treatment then others.

    Love your upbeat personality too.

  12. I’m not a Stevie fan either but that comment about him was just mean. And I have a hard time seeing Chris as hot, because his personality is a major turn off.

  13. I agree with some on here that there were a few digs that weren’t that funny, BUT, same goes for Ashley’s blog. Hello, you people who are so outraged by Natalie, that’s so weird. What about Ashley? She’s ripping and zinging just as much if not more. I don’t see any of you on Ashley’s blog. Why is that

    Comment by Ashley2 — July 18, 2012 @ 2:46 pm

  14. Hey Natalie,
Thank goodness you don’t rave over Sean. The guy is nice, but so boring. The only difference between Emily and him is that Emily swears like a fishwife and she is the product of plastic surgery. But is Sean good looking? Meh, typical jock look. Vanilla. I like guys that look like Chris too (not sure about his personality but we are just talking looks here). I’m with you!

    Comment by Lisa James — July 18, 2012 @ 2:53 pm

  15. Did you have an extra pair of panties handy writing all that bull about Chris?

I agree with Ashley Spivey, Chirs looks like a baby EAGLE.

    Comment by Vanessa — July 18, 2012 @ 3:20 pm

  16. Why do people come here to call Natalie names?!?!? Why waste your time reading and then putting a hateful comment. Ridiculous if you ask me. Leave this blog if you don’t like it!

    Love your blog Natalie! =)

    Comment by Janette — July 18, 2012 @ 3:56 pm

  17. I agree with Natalie about Ed being on BP3; especially after he said he would never do anything like that. It clearly diminishes the sincerity of his engagement to Jillian. I thought all the women in Chicago were chasing him, so why does he have to go back on TV to “find love”?

    Comment by Luci — July 18, 2012 @ 4:58 pm

  18. @ Janette, I agree! I don’t get the rude comments to someone who is just so genuine and honest. Natalie has a unique perspective – she doesn’t just follow the other bachelorettes/masses and echo the same boring stuff about who everyone likes to like. She thinks for herself and is not afraid to be different. I admire that a lot !!

    Comment by Lisa James — July 18, 2012 @ 7:34 pm

  19. Hey, I don’t know if this is true…but I was told that Michelle Money was allowed to see her daughter during BP2. If this is true, then that is probably why Tony went on. I still disagree with him hooking up with anyone.

    Comment by Lily — July 18, 2012 @ 8:59 pm

  20. I love your fashion sense, and enjoy reading your insight, but Chris is not hot. I agree with Ashley Spivey’s blog that he looks like a baby eagle. He did have moments of being better looking, but his ugly moments were a total turn off. Wow, what is up with the ripping of Stevie? He seemed like a fun guy. Yes, a bit annoying, and not the best looking, but you were harsh. Emily doesn’t care about all the physical… look at her last two remaining guys. Good peeps, not 10s. And you go off about how Emily has all these other attributes rather than just her looks, cut Stevie a break. And no, I’m not related to him! lol!

    Comment by Annie — July 18, 2012 @ 9:05 pm

  21. I thought the same thing as Annie ^. Ironic to be so harsh on Stevie solely based on his looks, then call out ABC for only focusing on Emily’s looks.

    Comment by Beth — July 19, 2012 @ 1:01 am

  22. Good for you Natalie for calling out the show being ridiculous to praise Emily-best ever. And you are right. All past bachelorettes were beautiful in their own ways-NATURAL ways.

Ashley Hebert does not need your pity. She is a strong person and beautiful inside and out. You actually insult her by saying poor Ashley Hebert and her insecurities. I believe producers played up that side of her. From what I saw she was the most genuine bachelorette. She is obviously confident in what she has and the most accomplished bachelorette. Hello, an ivy league doctor. The guys on Ashley ‘s season seemed to be genuinely interested and gave an honest shot with her, well except Bentley, but he was planted for drama. at her men tell all, the guys were the most respectful I have ever seen in all seasons. Even when her guys were pissed, Ashley at least provoked that strong reaction.

Most Emily’s guys were invisible and indifferent except some key players. Emily is playing a tv role and she comes off vindictive at times,; the sad part is most America buy her played up, edited sass.

Ashley’s sweet, humble, kind and looking for the best in people, and sometimes her kindness was taken advantage of. She was misunderstood as low self esteem, low confidence and weak. Do you really think a low confidence woman would go on this show to have the time of her life? Her insecurities were normal but the editing power chose to zoom in and magnify them. And average viewers only saw the edited side of her.

The truth is I see far more massive insecurities with Emily Maynard. She knows she has nothing to offer a guy other than her looks. All her plastic surgeries, Botox, veneers speak volumes about her insecurities. She said the pressure of tabloids destroyed her relationship with brad: zero confidence and major insecurity. I hope the guy she chooses at the end of this will stick by her side because if it does not work out again, that guy will be sure to be vilified because the viewers believe the clean angelic image she is painted to by editors, and that she could do nothing wrong.

People often mistake bitchy and vindictive for strong and sassy, too bad. Obviously Natalie is more aware of things being said among bachelor people. I read that certain guys at mta had pretty negative reaction to Emily. Translation: they realized emily put on a show and was quite phony., oh and the hood rat nature. Hope Emily gets a tv show after this, because she ‘ ll be really good at it. Ashley Hebert at least can go back to being a pediatric dentist- no tv career. (sarcasm)

    Comment by Confused — July 19, 2012 @ 1:28 am

  23. I think that acting nasty and rude seems to be getting more and more in the vogue because some of the young fans like this and encourage it. These low-lifes like it when people look stupid, they like blogs where people are made fun of and they like Emily when she swears and tells people off, mistaking that as a strength when it’s really just crass. Why is that? The real women with true strength and class are the ones like Trista, Jillian and Ashley H. And even Natalie, so sweet, has gotten rather nasty in this last blog. C’mon Natalie, don’t follow the masses like Ashley S. has. Stay on course — you can analyze without calling people names like “loser”. You are better than that. Really. I know you’ll realize you went a bit far and pull back. You have what it takes. You are a lovely person. I am still your supporter and offer this feedback as a friend not hater.

  24. GREAT Blog, Blondie!…….i cannot wait for your comments on the B-P 3 !…..

    Comment by Pamela B... — July 19, 2012 @ 7:27 am

  25. Read your blog and read the comments here. Emily hailed as the best Bachelorette ever is so off! She was so boring! She did not have the liveliness of Jillian or Ali or even the honest emotions of Ashley who I feel was unfairly maligned. Emily treated some of the guys like potential employees with her questions and it seemed cold. Sure she is a nice person and all but who is the real Emily? Also I have noticed when its a live audience the bitch in her comes out vs what we see on tv. Ex. Her ripping Brad to pieces about her boring dates (isn’t her asking Ryan to help baking cookies boring enough?)and for the girls he kissed. I mean how many guys did she kiss? Ok so Kalon is a jackass but to engage in childish retorts with him when she could have said OK and let it go might have showed she is the bigger woman and he the bigger jerk. Sometimes forgiveness is the best revenge but I guess someone needed to get the last word. With that said I wonder who is the real Emily? The sweet Southern girl the editors and producers showed the audience or the shrew we saw on AFTER and MTA? Perhaps some of the negative reviews she got from some of the guys may be true after all. Oh well, Good luck to the guy she picks. I guess know we know what Brad meant when he said Emily is one helluva woman. Also if Jef is watching MTA I guess he got the answer to his question as to why Emily is still single. Go figure! lol

Thank you for saying Sean is boring. I do not get his appeal and I do not know why his fan girls on Facebook and other forums still persist on saying Emily made a mistake want him to come back in propose. They would be bored with each other in 3 months time. He’s better off.

I laughed so hard so many times at this post! I personally love that you are injecting these posts with a lot more of your personality and things you would say if you were having a conversation with someone. I could read this whole post and hear you actually saying these things! You are hilarious and entitled to your opinions so never compromise or apologize for putting your true feelings out there.

  28. Great blog Natalie! Hilarious!!! We think alike… ;)
I especially agree with you on the comments of Emily being the most beautiful bacelorette as too much focus on her looks first of all, and disrespectful to all the other bachelorettes who are also so beautiful, and just like you said for instance DeAnna Pappas, one of the most natural beautiful look of the bachelorettes in my opinion too.

I think Ryan is hilarious, but so full of himself, but I’d rather see him as bachelor then Sean. Something is fishy to me about the “too perfect Sean”.

I agree with your opinion of Chris, he seemed real to me, BUT after seing the BP3 preview…no, no Chris…NO!
And fully-100%-completely agree about the Tony thing too! you have to go home from bachelorette because you miss your son, but on the other hand you go to Bachelor Pad to be away from your son again?!? Um… But maybe he just knew Emily wasn’t feeling him, or he was hoping she’d stop him? Because he never really said the actual words “I want to go home”, I think Emily just knew she didn’t like him well enough, and being in the middle of it, he couldn’t

Major LOL @ the Kalon-silicone-pen comment.

    Comment by SJ — July 19, 2012 @ 10:14 am

  29. This is such a refreshing outlook on this season!! I am so happy that you noted how this season has truly played up Emily’s appearances. Apart from her being a single mom, I have no idea what she does for a living. She lives in this huge mansion and is clearly very well off but she doesnt appear to have a job of her own besides “mother”. Which is fine but I really need the show to stop playing up this “poor single mother” angle. There are single mothers across this country that do not have the support or wealth that Emily has been portrayed to have.

I think Ashley H was truly one of (if not the) best bachelorettes this show has ever had. She was career oriented and did not let the show or any of the men hinder her ambition to become a dentist at one of the top universities in the country. The show played up her emotions and insecurities instead of showing her considerable intelligence. She was a great role model for young girls because she could only be herself and that was a truly great person. The show did her a huge disservice week after week by insulting her and keeping Bentley around for so long to insult her. The way they have pulled out the red carpet for Emily just shows how poorly they treated Ashley.

And then they have the audacity to take huge credit for Ashley and JP which they really just lucked into.

Sigh. I’m over it. I hate the producers of this show.

    Comment by FallonA — July 19, 2012 @ 10:35 am

  30. I’m not suprised to see Tony on Bachelor Pad – as a parent I was horrified that he drunk dialled his son (past his son’s bedtime) and slurred a conversation that held his son responsible for Tony leaving the show. Doug’s advice that night that his son was safe and in good hands, and to calm down, was excellent. Tony’s son’s opportunity to see an alternate family dynamic, and bond with friends and family, is a healthy thing for an older child. I think Tony knew Emily wasn’t for him and that he needed to leave. Tony also likely learned that his son’s life might start but doesn’t end with him, and he learned how trustworthy and well-chosen are his son’s caregivers.
Your comments about how wonderful Chris is are appreciated. He’ll be a devoted husband and father, and him trying too hard is actually a good thing (although it came off poorly on TV). Ryan is a barrel of eye-rolling, larger-than-life fun and I hope to see more of him around. Would like to see more Michael and Alejandro, they seem like solid characters. Based on what we saw on a highly edited show, they would’ve been in my top 6. Any more info on them? I love your opinions, keep dishing them!

  31. I admire how Natalie leaves up all her comments, even when some of them might be critical of her blog in some way. After all, most of us know not to listen to the silly stuff that has no relevance. Natalie shows a real inner strength and self-confidence that is to be admired. I didn’t like this week’s recap as much as some of the others, because it did have a little name calling (like “loser”), but it’s not a big deal and who isn’t sick of some of these guys by now LOL.

  32. Ashley H. was NO WAY

  33. I’m sorry, but Ashley Hebert’s season was the worst. She had two men leave cuz they were not into her at all; Bentley and Constantine. She was rude to bring Bentley back whom she didn’t even go on a date with and she was warned about him in the beginning by one of her friends. Her family was rude to JP and Ben!! Her sister told him he was too old for Ashley and wanted to know his intentions for dating a 24 yr old. It was probably even worse than we really know too cuz they edit as much bad stuff as they can. They were probably worried they’d have nothing to air!!!

Sorry girls, but Emily’s season was so much better. I agree about DeAnna Pappas though, she was one of my favorites too, she was very mature and classy.

    Comment by Melinda — July 19, 2012 @ 2:22 pm

  34. @ Melinda – I disagree. Ashley H. can’t control her sister’s actions. Let’s see what Emily’s family is like shall we? And the poor dude that goes with Emily gets two sets of in-laws because of Ricki. Ashley H. was treated terribly by the show and they made her look like a fool to get duped. Emily probably had them write in her contract that she always had to look on top of things. There was all sorts of negotiations for Emily that Ashley never got — Emily received an excessive wardrobe allowance and the show management seems to be catering to her every request. She has been treated differently because of her manufactured looks and she took advantage of being pursued by ABC because they wanted a barbie doll. But hey, Ashley found true love, so she gets the last laugh.

  36. @High Road, I’m not doubting Ashley looked great. She had one of the best wardrobes and her hair color rocked it. There was just too much crying and confusion for me to take. Her break ups lacked substance. Emily has a strong sense of self and is well spoken. As far as having two sets of inlaws…. That’s more people to love your kids. Attitudes like yours is probably what Emily is afraid of meeting.

    Comment by Liz — July 19, 2012 @ 3:17 pm

  37. @High Road, are we supposed to feel sorry for that because I don’t, it just makes me laugh. I would have had a lawyer handle my contract before going on a TV show as personal as the Bachelorette. PS, that’s probably just Ashley’s interpretation of it, i doubt they were really mean to her.

  38. This blog is hilarious, love it. I love the comments about Kalon, he is a major douche. However I don’t know why everyone hates on Ryan so much. He definitely was not my favorite but I think his fun personality gets mistaken and taken for cockiness. He may be a little cocky, but he’s fun and confident. Again not my favorite, but still, he wasn’t that bad. Chris on the other hand… I thought he was attractive, but then his immaturity showed and I did NOT like him, he has some growing up to do. He was just so unattractive to me.
Also yea, everyone focuses so heavily on Emily’s beauty. Yea she’s gorgeous, but I think Ashley Hebert was awesome! She is also beautiful and she’s always laughing and making jokes even about herself. She was full of life on the show! I think her season was the most fun and her and JP are perfect together.
Although my favorite guys so far I think are Jef Arie and Sean. Mostly Jef, LOVE him!

  39. Sometimes I really enjoy your writing and humor, but sometimes you remind me of one of those Mean Girls. Again, I come here and enjoy your writing (to anyone about to attack), but not consistently. I hope as you mature you start to filter your thoughts. You can be hurtful, regardless of how public thise individuals have made their lives.

  40. @Jessie, maybe Natalie went off the deep end a bit this one time, but have you ever read Ashley S.’s nasty comments? Now that is a mean girl, every week.

    Comment by Maura — July 20, 2012 @ 7:09 pm

  41. @melinda: bentley was there for the drama. producers tricked him into playing the villain. i’m pretty sure both he and Ashley got played here.

If Ashley were like Emily, she would let Constantine go sooner than at final 3 because…well “you don’t open up to me”. But Ashley was a considerate girl and she did not want to lead on guys who were more seriously invested in her then hurt them later in the process. She knew Constantine wasn’t invested and just had fun with him. I heard she could have taken him further had he stayed so that he could bail before the proposal. That would have save Ben from proposing right?

Kalon was not into Emily at all. In fact, he wanted to get out of there but producers wanted his exit to be as dramatic as possible for ratings. He said in an interview at MTA he got ambushed for TV drama and i think for saving Emily’s face. so Kalon~bentley. I believe early on some guy did not feel it with Emily and wanted to get out respectfully because “i miss my son”.

  42. Usually I’m with you but this time IMO you’re way off. First Ryan was the only guy in the whole group of 25 that was in Emily’s catagory. The rest were a bunch of losers. A DJ, a data destroyer, a corporate sales director (what’s that), an advertising sales rep??? and to boot they were not attractive. Even Sean with the great body has a red, blotchy face. Couldn’t figure where this lot came from and that she deserved better. Then, that you think Chris is hot is unbelievable. He looks like a bird and acts like a kid. Don’t know what program you were watching but his temper is scary. Didn’t you see him get pissed when she let him go. “I told you I love you” sounded like a threat or more like “how dare you”. Kalon is not my favorite but he spoke his truth and didn’t kiss anyone’s ass. As far as being sorry, why should he. We all come with baggage to any relationship. You’d think he called Ricky something horrible. Only 12 year olds come with no baggage. But lastly, Ryan is a doll and he knows it. That you know you’re good looking doesn’t make you bad. If you took time to read up about him you’d find that he is very grateful for what he has so why should he deny it. I would have loved to see them together. He’s as witty and smart as she is; they would have made a great couple. And no I’m not his mother.

  43. NATALIE,
Good job with the Men Tell All recap……..frankly, this season of the Bachelorette hasn’t really lived up to all the hype…..the majority of the guys they cast this season are kinda bland….aside from Arie, Jef, and ChrisB ……to be fair to all the guys on MTA they should have let each guy have a turn at talking….some of the guys on MTA didn’t even say anything (Aaron, Alejandro, Nate, Alessandro, etc)…..too much air time was given to Ryan and Kalon….two of the most bland guys ever to go on the bachelorette……..hoping Emily finds true happiness with either Jef or Arie.

    Comment by Angelique — July 21, 2012 @ 9:43 pm

  44. What do you see in Chris??!! He is effeminate and dorky, (did you see his butt sticking out when he tried to use the bow and arrow?) On top of it, he is a hot head. Sure, he apologized later, but only because he was afraid to lose Emily. He would make a short tempered husband!

    Comment by Mel — July 22, 2012 @ 4:31 pm

  45. Of course Emily is beautiful. I’m sure she paid a lot of $$ for those boobs, teeth and hair (have you seen the before photos? Looks like a diffrent gal.) But let’s give her credit for her best asset – her smarts. She allegedly checked out the financial backgrounds of her suitors before she even knew them, and it was easy to figure Jef would be the winner because he has the biggest bankroll (or his family does). Hey, it worked for her in the past. She wants a sibling for Ricki, and Jef will be on the hook for child support for years after she divorces him. She brings ‘calculating’ to a whole new level. Sean and Arie never stood a chance.

    Comment by Morgan — July 23, 2012 @ 10:08 am

  46. Come on who likes Chris? He is an immature baby who sulks when he doesn’t get enough attention! Nat I can’t believe you like this guy. He thinks he is hot now that his 15 minutes got extended to BP3. I am sure the ladies from the pad loved to hear him talking smack about all of them. What a jerk.
