  1. When will the casting for the contestants for the bachelor be?

    Comment by tatyanni — April 30, 2011 @ 2:05 am

  2. I just wanted to make a comment of how non-diverse this show is…other ethnic backgrounds would LOVE a shot at love too! Hence, African American men and women, or even Hispanic…the diverse aspect of this show is very poor. Just Saying :)

    Comment by Jen — April 30, 2011 @ 3:27 am

  3. Hi … I would love to introduce a new idea to your current dating concept. I would love to have a show for widows only. You see I am widowed and have been for 21 years … my husband passed when I was 29 … my children were 2 & 5 … with very little family and outside support … I am proud to say that I literally did it all on my own … even working 3 jobs at times to provide for my children. Well, today I stand very proud of my 23 year old son and 26 year old daughter … They are wonderful people and my sacrifices have clearly paid off … But now it’s my time … I turned 50 in January (although people say I look younger) and now I am in search of my soul mate again. As a widow, I found that it is easier to date other widowers since we share a common bond …please respond if you think this is a possibilty and would like to speak live. Thank you for your time!

  4. I wanna be the next Bachelorette….We need a Latina and here I am

    Comment by Lisseth — May 1, 2011 @ 12:48 pm

  5. I want to be the next Bacheloette. Older females need love also and I am African American and we need an African American contestant. I am very pretty and don’t look my age. I really need to find my soulmate, please give me the opportunity.

  6. Hi! how about an Argentinian girl for The Bachelor!!! I could teach some sexy Tango! ha, sad i actualy live in Argentina! love u!

    Comment by Carolina — May 3, 2011 @ 11:13 pm

  7. There is a lack of color (read: minorities) on both of these series…the other comment I have is that I have yet to ever see any of these contestants go over a size 6. Meanwhile, the average size of an American woman is at least a 12. I guess putting a plus size woman or man isn’t television friendly, huh? (<–note the extreme sarcasm)

I'd love to say that I'd like to see this change. However, seeing as how television is all about what looks good, and we as a society still don't see the true beauty in women who are over a size 12, I doubt it'll ever happen. All about the ratings, right? =o(

    Comment by KP — May 5, 2011 @ 1:16 am

  8. I agree with what is said above- more diversity is much needed!

    Comment by Dee — May 5, 2011 @ 1:47 am

  9. i’m sure every letter you receive says they know someone who would make a perfect contestant. i have watched the show since it began; and i will say that i have the perfect contestant. it seems to me the southern belle type woman really receives excellent ratings and this is the type of woman i have as a nominee. she is my assistant and currently resides in saint louis mo. i sent a nomination through the website. i’m trying to get her to attend the casting call in chicago but she is skeptical because everything in her life has been a disappointment thus far. she is originally from louisiana and was a victim of hurricane katrina. since being evacuated from her home town and moving here; both of her parents have had cancer. she is 28 and has not had anytime to find love on her own as she has always been caring for others. i know the show would receive a jump in the ratings just from her story. please contact me if you feel her story is worthy and lets give someone a chance who really deserves it!

    Comment by gina — May 5, 2011 @ 7:14 pm

  10. Is this for men only or can women come to this as well?

    Comment by CJ — May 7, 2011 @ 4:14 pm

  11. Let’s try not to have a 38 year old bachelor with 23 year old women.
Seriously, those ones are fun for the guy but will never last and no woman would really want to date up that far if they didn’t have to.

    You need more age-appropriate contestants.

What about a slightly older demographic?

All in their 30′s to 45 and under?

    Comment by myopinion — May 7, 2011 @ 7:08 pm

  12. One of the questions on your application is “do you genuinely want to get married”? Well, my answer is YES!! After one failed marriage (many years ago)and two of the most beautiful daughters on earth, YES I would would love to be married once and for all. I cant imagine a life in which I dont have anyone to share it with. I have to say, coming home to the one that you love the most, the idea of that puts a smile on my face. So, PICK ME, for your next “Bachelor.”

  20. If you would like to be a female contestant on the next season of the Bachelor do you attend a casting call? or is the casting call for the next Bachelor?

    Comment by Delanie — May 22, 2011 @ 9:48 pm

  21. I could never be a contestant on this show – not enough flavor! Every season – always white men who look exactly the same, and same goes for the women. Spice it up. Not everyone wants to be with these kind of people, nor does everyone who watches the show want to see the same old boring kinds of people. I know this show is completely fake, but at least make it look a little more interesting.

    Comment by Kat — May 24, 2011 @ 2:45 am

  22. It seems as if their are no younger people on the show.I understand that they think u have to be mid 20s or 30s…well I am 21 and I no that I want to find my soulmate…I don’t want my life to start now…this is a great idea for the next bacherlorette….please contact me if interested…

    Comment by Toni — May 24, 2011 @ 3:00 am

  23. Hey,
Does anyone know where the application for the bachelor this coming season is…? hehe I’m special and cant figure this site out. I would love to be a female contestant.

    Comment by Hannah Fontenot — May 24, 2011 @ 4:13 am

  24. oh and i am 18 years of age and agree with Toni.

    Comment by Hannah Fontenot — May 24, 2011 @ 4:14 am

  25. I agree. As a black women, makes me feel like we are not desirable or classy enough for an ABC dating show. But educated, smart, classy, funny, beautiful black (or any other minority group) women are out there. I am one, and I have so many friends that are as well. People are dating interracially now, its perfectly exceptable to put other colors on your show ABC. Come on, be more progressive!

  26. i think it is very sad that there isnt ANY TYPE of bachelorette show for women in thier 40′s.. I have been single for over 10 years and would love to find a man who deserves me.. but All of todays shows are based on 20 somethings or 30 somethings… Its not fair! there are attractive, loving , smart women in thier 40′s too ya know that still dream of the fairytale! Just because we may have been divorced once and have children shouldnt exclude us! Call it SECOND CHANCE… but hey… how about giving us one too! :) Krissie Maas

    Comment by Krissie Maas — May 24, 2011 @ 6:12 am

  27. I agree with Jen. I too am turning 50 this year take great care of myself. No one knows that I am the age that I am; and additionally am a widow! Let’s get a new show going or spike up the age and give some more pizzazzz!!!!!!

  30. I’d love to see an ASL Bachelor/Bachelorette Show where the Rose-Giver is Deaf or Hard of Hearing and the suitors/women sign ASL and Marlee Matlin is one of the Production Consultants for this show, such as “Finding ASL Love” or something like that. I’d LOVE to see a show like that! Contact me for that!

  35. There was a plus size Bachelor and he chose from plus size women. No one remembers it beacsue no one wanted to watch it. Having lived in Southern Calirfornia, I do agree with the diversity comments. There are some very beautiful and unique people out there that the audience would fall in love with as well as the Bachelor/Bachelorette.

    Comment by Bird of Paradise — May 28, 2011 @ 12:00 am

    Comment by Linh Phan — May 29, 2011 @ 2:20 am

  39. I agree with the aspect of an older cast. I will be turning 50 this year, and have never been married. I have dreamed all my life of finding the “one” for me. I have been single for six years now after a ten year relationship.
I still have the heart of a hopeless romantic, and wish to have a wonderful man next to me in life. Someone to share with, someone to laugh with, and share lifes adventures with.
All I want is to have love in my life.

    Comment by Denise — May 31, 2011 @ 5:12 am

  42. Just wanted Ashley to know there are million girls with small boobs and if guys only look at boobs, they don’ n know what’ s important. My daughter participated in the Susan B. Koman Breast Cancer walk, her T-shirt said The Itty Bitty Titty Team. Proud she accepts her size and not tried to change.

    Comment by Dianne — June 7, 2011 @ 1:22 am

  43. I believe you should have it open for Canadians. You know you love us:) Eh?!
Who else could you bump into and have them tell you “sorry”? Despite the stereotypes they are actually pretty accurate aside from thinking we are all eskimos…

Sending warm wishes to all who have not given up on the hope to find love. Your time will come, but the main question is, do you love yourself? Because you are beautiful.

I saw a few shout outs for widows and I fully appreciate that. My mother has been a widow for 2/3rds of my life. She raised all three of us from a young age on her own, and seeing her rise through the events that turned our lives upside down really opened my eyes to her strength. It’s not easy, and what I wanted for her more than anything was for her to find love again, because she is the most amazing women I have ever met. Though she has been through a lot, she is still very bubbly, kind hearted and confident in herself.

    Take Care,

  49. PLEASE bring back Ben F from the Bachelorette!!!!!!!!!!!

    Comment by Tia Strong — August 2, 2011 @ 3:20 am

  50. How about a bachelorette for women! As in lesbians. I’m sorry but Tila Tequila was horrible and most of us aren’t blithering idiots taking their clothes off every 2 seconds. A respectable lesbian bachelorette would be awesome. And while I’m sure you’d get an abundance of hate mail, I bet the ratings would go up!

    Comment by Jill — September 26, 2011 @ 5:01 am

  51. How about an Iraqi gal, who was born in Baghdad Iraq in the 60′s and was raised in Greece…Divorced the love of her life of 20 years of marriage with 2 beautiful boys
11 and 18 and now she is ready to date and maybe marriage again.

    Comment by Kalida — March 5, 2012 @ 6:37 pm

  52. It appears that there is a lot of interest again for a the older and more diverse group that flooded the networks immediately following the original airing of the Bachelor. Obviously the original is the most popular but there is enough interest to launch a pilot with over 40 and I’m sure the drama would still occur. I believe producers feel the maturity level prevents the required ” drama” that feeds ratings. I have friends that are drama queens and kings, and divorcees, and their children, wow!!!…very colorful.. Just a thought… They are still nice to look at too…

    Comment by Jennifer Moon Walls — March 13, 2012 @ 9:43 am

  53. Sean from Emily’s season would be a great bachelor.

    Comment by Nicky Whelan — July 23, 2012 @ 8:23 pm

  54. I have to agree with a lot of the comments, you people have better odds at meeting someone that we that are 40-60. May not be as exciting as jumping off boats but I’m sure you could come up with some wonderful events. As we get older it’s harder to meet me. I’m 51 and have 30 year olds hitting on me. I a bit overweight but working on it. Can you imagine all the people who will say ahh that was so wonderful for that couple. it’s all about how buff your bod is, be like a barbie or ken doll. I would love to have a time that I would never forget. Hope you will think about it. Let’s do REAL people

    Comment by Cindy Taylor — November 1, 2012 @ 9:35 pm

  55. I have read all the comments about having something different on your show. I suggested this concept several years ago and I guess no one was interested. There seems however to be a great interest. Seeing Ken and Barbie on all the shows is getting boring. What not do a reality show with real people. I am 55 and have been alone for the last 20 years. The dating scene for this age is very hard. I feel like your ratings would have a huge rating increase if you did a couple of things different. First a new age group 50-60, and second come to the south and do the show from the south. I live between the coast and the mountains. Cast normal people, not face lifts fake boobs and tummy tucks, but also not fat rednecks that people just want to laugh at, we do have professionals that do not live in mobile homes and sit around drinking beer. Give us something real. I know you get these comments all the time but I know that I could be the next bachorlette that could represent not only the show, but the south with great dignity.
